I've seen it, one of those 1/2 balls with the hard base. How do you know your core is shit?? Do you fall over a lot? Unable to sit in chairs straight? I figure playing hockey along with othe sports and training hard keeps my core in shape, so what if I can't stand on one of those balls....I'm not going out for the cirque du solais or whatever it is.

I do alot of physical work and pull muscles, dislocate ribs and hurt my back. My chiropractor says its because my core isnt up to par with the rest of my body.

In order to do a simple test for your low abs:
-lay down on your back with arms extended aside.
-fully extend your legs towards the ceiling.
-engage your abs in order to keep your hips/low back stable
-start lowering your fully extended legs
-keep you abs engaged all the time.
-when your low back starts to over arch STOP
-memorize the angle that your legs where off the floor.
You should be able to lower your legs all the way to the floor keeping your back stable
The angle that you memorized represents the level of weakness of your lower abs.
Take a few Pilates classes and ask questions to the instructor, you will learn to engage abs and pelvic floor in order to give full support to the rest of your body and will have as a bonus a little stretch as well.
Good luck

I just use the bosu for squats.
I'm bull5hitting of course but the scary thing is that I've actually seen guys doing this heavy [for them]... I give those guys plenty of space for my own safety

trunk stabalizing work... try taking a regular ball you see at the gym (no clue what they are called) , go into a plank with your forearms on the ball , tense your abs and then move your arms in complete circles rotating the ball 10x each direction ..... This movement destroys the core , you'll see :) Oh yeah do it for 4 sets before ab work

I used to think the "HARDCORE" way too. I thought stuff like this was silly and useless, now I believe theres a spot in my training program for this. The silly looking part is why I am buying one for home use.
Hey, if it cuts down on back injuries and training injuries then its worth it.
I'll still do my power movements. Just better.

I saw a guy at the gym the other day doing full deep squats with 215 while standing on an inverted Bosu Ball. Lets just say I was impressed. This guy was a hockey player what level I don't know but Core Strength is needed to make your muscles functional. In my opinion you can be strong as a bull but if you can't make your body utilize the muscle mass that you have then it is not much good to you is it. Just my thoughts though.

Run man, run! Here come the jokes :friday
Bosu is shit boys. The transfer effect to sport and performance is negative. Chek used it with the americans during the olympics and once they used the bosu and swiss ball the medal standings went down. for core look into abdominal bracing by stewart mcgill if you cant locate it I will post you lads something. unilateral training on the ground then progress to bilateral is the answer as long as you have structural balance.
