So my digestive system seems to be changing. In the last 2 years it now seems that i can't eat any kind of red pasta sauce without extreme gas. :moon
Now since my last show in June, OATS are not working for me now, either. Those 2 things used to be a staple of offseason eating.
Anybody else see their system changing throughout the years?

Spaghetti sauce does a number on my stomach now as well. I think the acidity is the problem. I sure hope my system allows me to eat oats though. But L3 here noticed he couldn`t eat oats anymore either and I think the biological stuff helped him out. I may be wrong though.

i am in my 20s lol maybe your not getting enzymes to help ur digestion, try changing sauces, organics, anti gas meds
Our body's change over time. It sucks but it happens and mOst people would never notice it. You know your bod so well that you can tell somethings wrong.
When I came off my contest prep a few years back I could drink milk wihout getting acid reflex. I switch over to soy for a few months. Then I tried milk again and I've been cool with it ever since.
Maybe your body will be able to take the oats in again someday :)

as of my last show i am lactose intolerant, never used to be before!
intolerance and food allergies can come and go at random throughout ones lifes... oats are actually considered a highly allergenic food for most ppl, causing stuffy or runny noses, bloating etc.
i have no idea about the pasta sauce though!

My first thought was food intolerance,
second would be food allergy. All the
bodybuilders diet staples are prone to
developing problems, oats-eggs-protein, etc.
I developed an allergy to eggs because
I loved them so much, ate 6+ every day.
Able to eat them no problem now by
rotating them and a couple other foods.
Google Paul Chek, Food Intolerance,Allergy.
I'm sure there's plenty of articles out there
on how to work problem foods back into your
diet by using food rotation.
I have problems too. Pasta make me feel like crap. I don't know about oats yet.
I feel like eating same things over and over isn't healty :(

It might not just be the sauce. What kind of pasta are you eating? wheat? Try switching to rice or spinach pasta. OATS also have alot of cross contaimination with other grains such as wheat. Also theres something in the wheat structure that closely resembles the structure in oats, what it is exactly i can't recall off hand. Seems like you might be gluten intolerant.

It definitely changes over the years. When I was young I would eat anything no issues...now I have a gluten intolerance... pasta is a huge problem...also lactose intolerant so dairy can be a problem too. I find if i cut my portions down it is not so bad and I can deal with it...I use lactose free milk etc.
P
i cannot eat peanut butter as of 1 month ago.. used to eat a pound a day. now i get upset stomach, bloats and gas.

Well i'm glad to hear i'm not the only one with food issues. I don't think it's the whole wheat pasta because if i switch to alfredo sauce then i'm good to go but that's more of a cheat rather than a staple food anymore. Any red pasta sauce kills me. any amount of oats now are aweful, hell i used to eat 3 cups a day even when i was dieting no problem. I just take them out now.
Main Carb sources now...brown rice, potatoes, whole grain breads/wraps.

Here's a different angle on it. Ever thought that you have developed an allergy to Genetically Modified tomatoes? They are used all the time and they don't have to tell you on the labeling. I'm assuming you haven't been eating organic pasta sauce? The sad thing about it is that once you have an allergy to GM tomatoes it might carry over to normal tomatoes.
How about vaccinations? Foreign undigested particles introduced directly into the blood stream can cause an immune response to them in the future. I've heard lots of stories of people developing allergies shortly after a vaccination.
Not so sure what to say about the oatmeal, it does seem like a weird situation. I don't think they are selling GM oats yet although it is possible.
My brother developed an allergy to certain fruits, most thin skinned fruits actually. Peaches, pears, plums cherries, apples. It was really weird, just came on all of a sudden, he would get swollen mouth and lips. After quite a bit of research we linked it back to a new class of insecticide that was started being used around 2003. Now he generally avoids those fruits, although he can usually peel all the skin off and be OK.
It sucks but that is the chances you take with an industrialized global food production system that only cares about profit and not about peoples health.
