It has been over 4 months since my lower back started to hurt. I am convinced that the problem lies in my left side sacroiliac joint. I believe it is a biomechanical injury due to overuse at work. I cannot use my lower back at the gym. The condition is chronic. I am due for a formal diagnosis on the 21st. Anyone familiar with such an injury?

I had to do a quick search to see what that was and ya i have it. Not as bad as what you're going through. Mine is on the left side, i went to a Chiro a while back but it made no difference. Since adding Deca into my HRT i seem to barely notice it, although it is still somewhat there.
Now that i know its called i think i'll go and see this sport therapist i know.. Let me know how the diagnosis go's..

Ive done a ton of reading on it, and I believe that the rest/manipulation/stretch/massage combo is what will be prescribed. Also, probably nutritional help, and perhaps some anti-inflamatories for a short time. Ill post it here.

My wife has the same problem after seeing chiro and physio she started to do the stretches she found on youtube and they have severly reduced her back pain. She just did a search of SI joint on youtube.
I have sacroliac paint and ive been using something called a true-back to fix it.

hey man,
we have a woman on our powerlifting team who had some SI joint pain, far as I know she just took time away from squatting and pulling and saw a good chiro... it took her a bit, like 6 months, but she was back to normal.
Said getting into and out of her car was a nightmare.

getting in and out of a car, bending over to pull up your socks or pull up pants one leg at a time, sleeping on the injured side etc. all nightmares lol. On top of that, my work demmands that I bend over 500x a day in an 8 hour shift, 5 days a week. Try 2500 reps a week on an injured muscle and see if it heals! Crap I tell ya, CRAP!!!

Any way you can claim it's been injured due to overuse at work and go on workers comp to take some time off with pay? It's probably part or all to blame for the injury in the first place... if you're doing that much bending, etc at work, it's been overused from the get go so whatever you did in the gym maybe would have been ok had you not had to use it so much during work?
Or I dunno what you do for work but if you talk to someone maybe you can be transferred to a less physically demanding position for a while?

you got it bro - my gym training is strict and would not cause injury on its own. I get a little sore due to building muscle which is normal. I can take time off with pay if it goes that way. I can also take temporary light duty. I have changed jobs within the plant to help the situation for now. The problem with work is that if your hurting, you cant just stop working and rest. Its line work. The line stops for nothing. At the gym, if something hurts, you stop. I already have paperwork in progress in case this does not heal. Comp will be paying for a back specialist, massage and chiro at the very least.
