I've been having a real tough time squatting off of my heels lately and I keep failing with the weight getting forward on me.

So I widenend my stance a good 6 inches today. Problem solved, except for the shorts. Tore them in half.

I finished squatting but the little girl doing triceps kickbacks behind me had a bit of a show.

its way better to train in baggy shorts and no undies dude. especially if you are doing squats. pick up some SPARQ training shorts by nike. best gym shorts ever.

I work out in lulu lemon pants (no homo) they're super stretchy.

When i had this problem, i started looking at my form, and low and behold, my knees were going way too forward. As soon as i started aligning my knees and ankles again, problemo solved. That may not be your problem at all, just something to check off ur list .

I think the "problem" is I don't have infinite hip flexibility AND once I hit about 385 the weight simply flips me forward if I don't have it directly over my center of balance. Widening out my stance opens my hips so that I can go all the way down without tilting my pelvis to the point that it pushs me forward.

Up to a certain point I am able to muscle through the error but it has been holding me back from breaking 400. Yesterday with the wider stance I felt stable and the weight felt balanced front to back through the full range of the squat.

I definitely need more room in my shorts though. Regular fit gym pants just don't cut it for heavy squats.
