Help with all of the above please and thanks.

I shudder to think about how much of a pain in the ass it would be should there be a problem with the TV.

If you buy a TV at the local Bestbuy and it breaks down...its a pain in the ass...let alone from a online dealer....

I buy lots of electronics online. I even have a freight forwarding address in the US. However, a TV is not something I would want to buy online.

I bought a Toshiba TV at my local Futureshop, which is 1.5 hours away. Once I got it setup I realized there was something off with the picture and it seemed to look different in the showroom. I called Futureshop and Toshiba. Because I was a few KMs outside their service are I was told to box it up and bring it back. In the end I got an amazing deal on a Sony. It worked out but it was a huge hassle. Trying to do this cross border would have been a nightmare.

Check out the "Daily Deal" on ebay... atleast once a week they'll have 32 or 42" flat screens, they had 32" samsung flat screens for $399 shipped a couple times, 42" was something like $600. Some of the stuff out there is like half of what you'd pay locally.

Stuff like this:

Pick one up in Bellingham if you can. My brother paid 50% of what his friends did for his 52" Panasonic.

Costco or Futureshop are worth a look. Futureshop loses money on alot of the TV's they sell, they try and sell you extra warranty / overpriced cables to make up for it

I have been looking at getting a TV looking at a least a 52" to a 60" and all the information I was looking at reguarding LCD vs Plasma was that a plasma is a better TV if you buy 50 inch or better but plasma's if hooked up to a computer can get a screen burn I think it's called a plasma TV will give you a better picture than a LCD better veiwing angles , better contrast...but they are heavier and produce more heat than a LCD and have the same amount of hours of life in them....but I am going to wait till either great christams deals or boxing day deals...as all the places Ilooked at it seemed futureshop had the best deals

Love Plasma myself. Buying a tv will depend on many variables which route to go. For the price the Panasonic Viera is tops in my book...

Honestly, I would recommend NOT buying one over the internet. I do not know what size of TV you are looking at but I would assume a 42" plus LCD would cost like $100-150 just to ship then if it was coming out of country you are looking at more in customs and duties fees. The best places to buy a TV would be somewhere like best buy or futureshop when they are having a sale. Also, if you buy a TV at costco they are usually pretty close to inline with futureshop and they come with a 2 year warranty for free.

Costco is great for returns. No questions asked and can be years down the road.

Buy w/ a credit card that way you can double your warranty if you have that option w/ your card.

Holi, get the 1080P Panasonic Viera. I wouldn't steer you wrong...
