The Bold 9000 has treated me pretty well but apparently they have a new 9700 Bold which is thinner and has a few upgraded features. I would say avoid the Storm but they have a Storm V2 which was also just released so I can't comment on that one...

9700 Bold is a sick phone! It has a tiny trackpad instead of the scroll wheel and the keyboard has a real nice feel to it. It's also super light.

You boys got me thinking of upgrading. I checked the Rogers site and the 9000 is 649.99 to buy and the 9700 is 599.99. I find it odd that the new phone is cheaper to buy...anyone know why this might be?

My ****ing P fell out of my BOLD 9700 and is long gone.

just signes up my THIRD bold 9700. Yes.... 1,2,3

First was DOA in the store after she signed it all up, second had a letter fall out, and the ear piece was garbled on occasion. Now, I am nervous...

Works wonderful..... just dont use the ****ing thing

Got rid of the storm and went with the iPhone, still have a work BB but the iPhone is a lot more versatile. I run my own Exchange server and the iPhone syncs with it on problem. The BB enterprise server is a bitch to get set up. I don't like the BB browser or the email client, to basic for today's technology.

Same after a few BB's, and now having the iPhone i would not another BB.

Love my iPhone... cant beat the nice big touch screen. You get so used to typing that you can barely feel your fingers touch the screen, i've never seen anyone type as fast on a blackberry as people can on an iphone, same goes for web browsing. Can't beat all the apps either.

Last time I checked the letters on the iphone were 3 times bigger when you flip the phone, than the ones on the blackberry. Not to mention if you're a welder type like myself, hitting the small buttons with messed up/burnt fingers sucks.

The iphone screen is electrostatic, you dont have to exert any pressure, just touch it with the highest point on your finger.

He's right, I have big sausage fingers and it is way easier and quicker on the iPhone.

I've got a curve wish the buttons were bigger though, my wife and daughter both are on there second shitty pearl's.. seems like there heading for a 3rd phone in 2 years and both do NOT want another Blackberry..
I like my curve but i'll be upgrading to an iphone very soon.. I wouldnt go near the storm and that was advice from a senior rim tech friend of mine, along with advice from a few buddy's who have them.

I'd happily challenge anyone with an iPhone to a speed typing contest to prove typing on my bold a faster experience.

And, I too have big hands.

You posted a link comparing the two by a guy who runs "The Iphone Blog" which one do you think he's going to favor. And I don't know why I watched the whole 9 mins of it lol, but there was nothing about typing on either of them.

I didnt post it to show typing comparison, couldnt find one. But it was a decent comparison for anyone interested. The guy making the vid didnt come to any conclusions on either product other than "They're very similar"...

One observation I might have would be that he spent a lot more time navigation on the blackberry, the touch screen on the iPhone definately makes browsing a lot faster. Being thinner is nice too if you carry it in your pocket. Especially if you have decent quads.

About as unbiased as it gets. I would like to see them do the VS with the new 3GS and see what they have to say.

http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2008/07/16/blackberry-bold-vs-iphone-3g-yeah-we-definitely-went-there/

Here’s where we’re going to voice our opinions of both devices as we kept the head-to-head review completely unbiased. True BlackBerry fans will want the Bold. It honestly is the best BlackBerry ever. There is no other choice — it’s the Bold. Plus the Bold spoils you. We cringe at the sight of our friends using Curves now. From the screen, to the keyboard, to the OS, which hate it or love it is pretty darn solid, the Bold is fantastic. But when you throw the iPhone 3G in the mix, it’s gets pretty difficult. A lot of early criticisms surrounding the original iPhone have been addressed. Corporate email, 3G, GPS, price, 3rd party applications, and so on. The honest truth is that if we had to use only one of the two devices, we’d be happy enough with whichever one you gave us. We could deal with the email shortcomings on the iPhone, and we could deal with the improved but not incredible browser on the Bold. It really comes down to what you need more in a phone. While the Bold certainly has improved media and other consumer features, it really is a business device at the end of the day. The iPhone 3G is a consumer device that happens to play nice with a lot of corporations, and we honestly think you won’t find many people dropping their BlackBerrys for an iPhone. They’ll carry both as long as they can afford it.
