The website "stronglift" believe that it is more convenient to not eat breakfast, that eating brkfast is good is you want to gain weight cause it will make your more hungry.
Here is a couple of links from the above site.
7 reasons not to eat breakfast (http://stronglifts.com/7-reasons-why-you-should-not-eat-breakfast/)
5reasons to eat breakfast (http://stronglifts.com/5-reasons-why-you-should-eat-breakfast/)
to breakfast or not breakfast (http://stronglifts.com/to-breakfast-or-not-to-breakfast/)
Personally, i eat a bigger breakfast when I got a day off and dont train and when I do train before work, ill just down a small protein shake.

Well, sumo wrestlers train all day and then eat huge meals in the evening. Eating breakfast essentially kick-starts your metabolism. You would probably gain more weight not eating in the morning and eating more later on in the day. For a bodybuilder, breakfast is a must. While dieting or offseason. I didn't read the links but they might give reasons similar to these.

for me breakfasts are a must.. its easier to get in 5000+ cals from 8 am to 11pm, then from 1 pm to 11pm
best tasting meal of the day IMO

If I don't eat something within a couple hours of waking up I get really tired in the afternoon, even if I have a good lunch.

as basically everyone else said, i think this idea is ridiculous... the word breakfast actually means to break the fast
the article that tries to make that point to avoid breakfast imo is junk science
1. Breakfast Doesn’t Increase Your Metabolism.
i believe the study he is referring to, took two groups of untrained individuals and had them eat either 3 or 6 meals per day then measured their BMR and compared... the study showed now difference in BMR
the issue with this is that 1, this isnt likely the case with untrained athletes and 2, even if metabolism didnt change in the short term it doesnt mean that this diet will be the best for muscle building or preservation, this was not looked at
i am also puzzled as to how this relates to breakfast? he is just talking about meal frequency
as well, although some have argued that fasting may be a necessity overnight, i have heard few argue that this fast should be continued into waking hours
2. Breakfast Doesn’t Stop Muscle Breakdown.
we know for a fact that cortisol levels are elevated after a night sleeps... cortisol by its nature is a catabolic hormone which means it breaks down various tissues for energy production purposes... if cortisol is elevated muscle protein synthesis is inhibited
3. Breakfast Doesn’t Manage Blood Sugar Well.
this point is highly dependant on the meal consumed for breakfast... if its high gi and low protein then ya, ur blood sugar is going to plummet after a few hours, however thats still only the case if u just cease to eat
the best way to regulate blood glucose levels is with regular feedings of protein... fasting, despite what the author says, leads to a decrease in glucose levels
4. Breakfast Increases Hunger.
this is questionable as well... again if its high gi, when blood sugar crashes ur appetite will be elevated... if its lower gi, higher protein blood sugar will be more stable and appetite supressed
even if hunger was increased from eating, it will cause you to eat more frequently throughout the day which is advantagous to us bodybuilders, yet skipping breakfast as we all now and as many overweight ppl can attest to, will usually result in binge eating at night
i think this point is way off the mark
5. Breakfast Is Not Healthier. People who don’t eat breakfast are usually the ones who don’t exercise and who grab a donut on their way to work, eat junk food at noon and a big dinner in front of the TV.
thats funny... its only the healthy ppl i know that consume a solid breakfast... dont think id consider coffee, a donut and a pack of smokes breakfast!
6. Breakfast Impairs Concentration. Studies (http://www.ajcn.org/cgi/content/abstract/88/3/667) show fasting (http://stronglifts.com/eat-stop-eat-brad-pilon-fasting-review/) for 48 hours doesn’t impact cognitive tests negatively. You don’t need breakfast for mental alertness.
this doesnt really have anything to do with training!
his study also does not show that eating inhibits congnitive performance either, it only showed it was the same, so i guess im missing his point for not eating here??
as well this study states that: "Satiety and interstitial glucose concentrations were lower during the calorie-deprived diet"
hmmm isnt that the exactly opposite of point 4??? in other words satiety is HIGHER when you consume breakfast!
7. Breakfast Is Unnatural.
this is true, but then again our ancestors did not eat for aesthetic or performance reasons, they ate for survival... our ancestors also did not consume a varied diet in most cases but this is not an argument against eating fruits, veggies, proteins and starches
this is false logic
