I bought a Inzer belt from monstermuscle.com. It has been 8 weeks since the order and I just received an email that they now want extra $ for shipping. I see this turning into a battle. Stay away from these people. I wish I could have found a decent Canadian supplier first.

Hey MP.... ya think you could find an equipment supplier to sponsor the board? I suspect they would get lots of orders.

I have the same belt and it works great. Best way to break it in is to just wear it and to move the leather back and forth a bunch.

How do you know what size to get (thickness)?

Is buckle or lever better than the other, or does it come down to personal preference?

tape measure around the belly. Keep in mind it will be tighter. Measured 34-35" but ordered a 31-35 (M)

buckle belt for me, personal preference.

Thanks man..

I ordered a Toro Lever Belt, in royal blue. I ordered small, which has a maximum hole size of 35". I normally wear 31-32" pants, so this should fit me. This belt is 10mm. I read that 13mm is for larger guys, and that it can dig in quite a bit.

I went with the Toro because of reading quite a few comments about Inzen's customer support being shitty. That, and they only have black in stock so if I wanted another colour it's a 2-3 week delay. Ordering directly from Toro would have been $85US, but I found another store online, Liftinglarge.com which had cheaper shipping and an additional 10% off coupon code expiring at midnight (Thanksfor10).

So I got the belt for $68US shipped. :)

Hey Kloan the Toro is a great belt. I used it to pull 700 a week or so ago. I have the 13mm but the 10mm should work for you. The thickness helps once you get a suit on.

You'll get used to it very quickly.

I find it screws with my set up more for squats than deadlift. If it messed with your deadlift setup I'd guess you had it on too tight or it was over your hips rather than your stomach. It should be snug but NOT tight. Your stomach pushes out against it rather than it holding you. That said at the top of your deadlift when you are used to no belt and push out against your belt you may indeed feel the need to lie on the floor and have a nap. You'll adjust.

I can't say that the belt does anything for my deadlift. It doesn't really kick in till the top of the lift and if I can get it off the floor I can generally lift it. I'm extremely happy with it in the squat rack however but it screwed up my lifts for the first 2 workouts till I got coordinated using it.
What I'm most happy with is that when I bomb that there are no back twinges the next day. My Illiotibial Bands hate me but the back is happy no matter how badly I get crushed under the bar.

I got mine today.. am I nuts for being pissed off the sent the wrong colour? I would have ordered directy from Titan and spent the extra money if I knew they'd send the wrong frickin colour.

ANYWAY, so the belt is supposed to be above the hips completely? I put it on like that but it didn't seem to cover the lower back? Is that right?

I'm pissed I can't use the damn thing yet cuz I want to exchange it or get my money back and order from somewhere else. I know people are gonna say who cares what colour it is.... Well I DO! Otherwise, why offer colours of anything? How about everything is black.... cars, clothes, sky.... who needs a bit of colour in their life when you've got black by your side?

I'll tell you who..... <--- this guy, that's who.. I happen to like blue dammit.

Yes i could'nt even bend over properly for deads with the belts on and with squats i got WAY to dizzy. Could only muster a few lifts before i had to rack it, but with no belt i can do 20 heavy lifts no problem?

Some of the guys at the gym who are long time bodybuilders say it's a must, but then there are the other long time bodybuilders that say if i don't need it then don't use it as im getting stronger and able to handle more weight with no need for the belt.

I get a sore back, but no real pain and i don't tthink im going to have a hernia anytime soon as i work abs 3 times a week.

I think i will get my own belt and give er a try just to be safe.

Just another bad note on behalf of Inzer... got a fax from Customs yesterday.. My belts are have been held since last Monday because Inzer didn't present an invoice, proof of origin, quantity of items and details of items.

“So, just wear the ****ing belt, ok?".. Lol. I'm kind of a moron that way when it comes to useing belts, wraps, straps. But reading those links kinda has me wandering if i should be rethinking that.. I actually looked at some of the belts that are hanging on hooks at the gym today..... I have always just ignored them before.

I used mine for the first time tonight... I'm just gonna save myself the $25 it'd cost me to send it back and the shipping for the replacement.

Worked great for squats, however I still got some discomfort in my lower back for dead lights.. granted I was lifting heavier weight, but it felt like it wasn't supporting my lower back the way I was wearing it.

To confirm, it's supposed to be worn above the hips, so that the belt is not touching the hips? How tight should the belt be?

How long do these things take to wear in?

I know a guy who is 6'3'', 265lbs and he swears up and down that not useing a belt has helped him get way stronger over time. He says if he can't lift it properly with just straps then he's not ready for that much weight. This guy is my age and was a toothpic as a teenager so i think there is some logic to what he says, BUT for guys always pushing the weight up and up belts are a must IMHO.

If your lifting insane weight you would be stupid NOT to wear a belt, but if weight is do-able then i don't think a belt is a must. Just like the no knee wraps for squats under 315lbs. so your knees get used to the weight.

Shit i wanted to try knee wraps at 225lbs due to my bum ass knee, but sure as shit they got stronger and can handle more weight now no problem. ****ing heavy squats fixed my knees....lol;)

Not sure how people wear those big ass lifting belts I find them uncomfortable. So, I just bought a Cardillo which fits like a glove and never had to break in as it was soft as a babies arse.

After reading all of your comments, I just ordered a Titan Toro Lever from Titan Canada (Louis) as mentioned. It took him a few days to respond to my call (email address seemed to be wrong on the web), but he has me all fixed up. I should see it early next week. I'll let you know how I made out. Thanks for the advice guys!

I just picked one up through Toro Canada as noted earlier in the post. Took a couple of days for Louis to call me back, but he was very helpful and I had the belt within two weeks from when I sent the bank draft. Highly recommended.
