I like tri-grips but I don't like rubber covered.

Like my women, I like them round. Those hexagonal shaped ones suck when you do deadlifts as sometimes they turn so one side hits the other first when going back down. If anyone has any tips how to not make that happen please let me know.

^ this..

Those octo plates SUCK.. trying rolling the bar around to square up the weights for a lift... so annoying.

The tri grip or ones with holes FTW. IMO rubber coated is the way to go too... unless you want a cave for a gym. People will slam the steel weights together just to be obnoxious, you need rubber.

The douchebag act of slamming plates together as guys load up bars just seems to be something gym attention whores thrive on. It`s like " Watch me load up this leg press, look what a big man I am, as they proceed to do 1/4 reps...

I prefer metal, and I prefer round, but really, as long as they are round, I would buy the cheapest ones. Handles or grips do not concern me.

My advice might be to avoid 35lb plates, I have NO idea why gyms have these.

Round plates with big grips are preferred, rubber is fine as long as the sleeve is steel to make it easier to mount on the bar. I like rubber in the gym because they're quiet. Too many asshats bang plates together to make themselves look tough.

If these plates are for personal use/sales, metal plates are better. All mine are iron, but don't have steel sleeves so they tend to stick on the bars.

Saves on space. A 35lb plate takes less space than 25 + 10 plates. Also less plates = less mess.

I ****ing hate bitches that are too lazy to sort the plates back properly and make me take down 3 45pounders to get to that 25lb plate. Die in a chemical fire you bastards.

Boy can I relate. When I was 19 working out at Bally, some asshole stuck some plates on the tree wrong so that they were overlapping... I didn't see it and pulled the plate on the middle tree and along came the 25lb from the top falling on my foot from about 4 ft up... fractured it in a few places and couldn't put any weight on that foot for over a month.

Not everyone is working with 3+ plates, this only works if you have atleast 3 plates on board. If you're doing bent over rows or an olympic lift with only a plate its annoying.

If I had a choice between those 3 I would shop elsewhere.

I do my bent over rows in a cage and my gym has bumpers for olympic lifts. I do see where you guys are coming from. I have always just worked with what i had and tried to be happy.
