Hey bros,

I was wondering if you could tell me if there is anything wrong with whole food shakes. I just put about a cup of brown rice, steak, and water into a blender and it came out nice and smooth where i can just drink it. Are there any adverse effects to this?

thanks

nope, why would there be. you chew your food so you can digest it easier. You just did you teeth a favour.

but I will be very honest in saying that youre gross

Isn't there something about the motion of chewing that tells the body to begin the digestive process or something?

And yeah that's pretty f'in gross man....

lol thanks, remember I just blended it and did not drink it....I thought I would try it and see if I have to use this as a last resort to get some extra calories in.

Somebody on T-nation was once saying that. But what a waste of a steak to put it in the blender...

warning. do not try this with hamburger unless you have special powers. I'm pretty tolerant with drinking gross crap, but this one definitely made me hurl

Whoa, wait a minute... your blender could blend a steak?? Was it smooth or were there chunks in it? I inherited a sweet blender from my uncle, but I doubt it could liquify a steak.. even if I were to add some water to the mix.

We have a Vita-mixer, that thing will chew up blocks of wood into powder. It would liquify a steak, but what a waste of a steak though.

yah same here I got a vita-mixer as well. That was one of the reason why I wanted to try it. I didn't exactly waste it. I had made it for a friend because he was going to come over around the same time I was going to have one. Long story short he did not want it, and it was left out overnight and i dont like to eat meat if its been left out for too long. It was only a waste of brown rice and water.

thats cool dude. i would have consumed that meat shake no problem. i used to blend food all the time and eat it when i couldnt chew anymore.

before i could afford protein powder i once blended:

250ml Milk
1 canned salmon
4 tablespoons choc syrup
ice

it was the worst shake ever but i was convinced it was better than eating the canned salmon. so gross.

^^gross.

i find i can eat plain canned tuna or salmon a lot easier with some cottage cheese.. i take a bite of both at the same time, makes it a bit more palatable.

^^ omg, i just threw up in my mouth.

i used to eat so much canned tuna straight from the can it was revolting. i cannot even smell tuna anymore without cringing.

with cottage cheese no less?

dude. my salmon milkshake pales in comparison to that.

Man that is way toooooo hardcore. You've got to get creative to get your cals in but that just takes things too far. I actually try to enjoy my foods.
