I wouldn't call it a bodybuilding magazine but I read Men's Health, and and sometimes skim through the girlfriend's copy of Women's Health.

Been a long time since I've picked up a mag. I find way to many adds and not enough info on proper training. With boards like these around I think we get all the info we need . Just my opinon

Added a poll to the thread. You can choose multiple options if you read more than 1.

MD only for me, its like the National Enquirer, or people magazine for me, basically just entertainment, with cool pics......Enquiring minds wanna know...The biggest problem besides some of the bullcrap in them is they are so far behind...The olympia results arent until next month....WTF...
Always on the back-end of my toilet....good read at 4:45 am poop...:flowers

I gave up on them. 0 content, 300 pages of advertising.
Me and the target market went opposite ways a while back.

Bought mags when I was a newb. After you buy about 2 you realize they pretty much just repeat the same thing over and over again and you get nothing new from them. You get way better, more current information from sites like this.. and you arent paying $6 for 100 pages of full page ads.

I support inside fitness because of the canadian content.
I read whatever is lying around the gym when I have alot of cardio.
I skim the pictures in Oxygen and laugh at the articles when I wait in line at safeway/
I look at HERS to see who's in it.

only ever buy Inside Fitness though

inside fitness...same as dryvrgrl...good canadian content, but like all mags, behind on the contest results. With the instant gratification of the net...why wait? MD a couple times a year when I start getting closer to a show...just to keep my head in the game, and I loved that they did an interview and photoshoot with Iris Kyle.

I used to read m & f, but as someone else mentioned...same thing over and over and over.

I don't buy any magazines anymore. There is way too much advertising and not enough articles. I understand that supplement companies get their customers this way however when an advertisement is 6 pages long, that's a little excessive.

I also stopped buying them because they don't cover enough female bodybuilding. In fact most magazines don't even have any female bodybuilding coverage anymore and what they do have is VERY little. The female bodybuilders work just as hard as the next person! And I don't need to here the crap about not being marketable!! Find the ones that are! If I could compete in fitness, figure or bikini I would but my body isn't built for that so I best fit bodybuilding. I need inspiration like the next person!

I read more then anyone I am sure, I read mostly inside fitness muscleman, reps oxygen and muscular development though each month while doing my cardio. I'm less into training articles now as I have basically read every single possible article over the past 20 years. I look more for familiar faces and contest write ups.

Hey Dryvrgrl, the ONLY reason why I had a little writeup in that magazine was because I had written 2 guys associated with the magazine as to why there were pictures of all the overall winners of the mens' bodybuilding and fitness and figure girls but no overall winner of the female bodybuilding in the article for the 2009 CBBF Canadian Natural Physique Championships. Not only did they not put a pic in there but they also spelled the name wrong! They both gave me different answers, one said it wasn't submitted and the other said it was the editor that didn't include it. All I was asking for was a reason as to why. One of the guys wanted to make it right by doing an article to make up for it. Honestly I would not have been in there otherwise.

I also found out that from the 2008 Canadian Bodybuilding Championships a guy from the magazine told the writer to focus mainly on men's bodybuilding. He still sent in the written article and pictures for the women as well but the magazine cut them out completely!

Have you looked at the top 100 Hot & Fit sexiest models in Inside Fitness? Have you noticed all of them are fitness, figure or bikini girls and ONLY 1 bodybuilding girl!!! You may not even know she is a bodybuilding girl but I do because I know her. LOL They can't tell me that out of the top 100 women only one is marketable and pretty enough to be in there.

Don't get me wrong I really do suit bodybuilding and wouldn't change that but I think I would be good at fitness too becuase of my gymnastics background, but they will tell me I'm too muscular. LOL I would have to stop lifting weights. LOL

I only look at the magazines laying around at the gym to do cardio but even then, I watch the Food Network now while doing cardio. LOL

the food network is like Porno when I'm 3 weeks out!! lol

I wrote to them this month and got them to at least mention the crazy number of Canadian girls who turned pro at the North Americans! (and put a pic of Leigh in there too! lol)

PLEASE DON'T DO FITNESS!!! you would KICK MY ASS lol

I saw Leigh's picture in there! I only look at the magazine in the store then put it back on the shelf. LOL I remember her standing outside at the Canadians in Vancouver waiting for the bus with the rest of us!!

Don't worry I won't do fitness. If I were to do it I would only do one local level show just to say I did it. Then I could say I was the oldest fitness competitor competing against girls half my age. LOL Like I told you I'm too muscular.
