Hey just wondering what you guys prefer to eat? And why?
Just comparing the labels on 2 kinda of PB, Natty had 100 calories 9g of fat 0 sugar.. but a lite brand of PB only had 80 calories and 6g of fat, but 1g of sugar.
I was always told and always have only ate the natty kind.. but does it really make that big of a diff?

Regular peanut butter has icing sugar in it. It's right on the label. Overall the just peanuts kind is more expensive but is a more healthy choice.

Most peanut butters have other oils etc in them and chemicals that help with seperation issues of the PB and oil, natty is the best of these 2 choices.......Almond butter, or macadamia nut butter, even better

organic PB has no chemicals, but some say that the peanuts grow a toxic mold that the herbicides kill of, so both ways are not good.

In my fridge is organic

Id go with almond or mac nut PB as it has the correct balance of essential fats.

Well im not to concerned with chemicals, pretty much everything these days is killing you.. and i read that normal PB has like 0.001g of bad fat in them, not even enough to write on the jar. So really the only real diff i can see here is the 1g of sugar in normal PB.. i know im going against everything i know.. but.. just doesnt make ALL that much sence to me.

^^ I have to say that Natural pb tastes better ( to me ) my kids eat the normal kraft stuff and when I'm craving it I'll take some ( as I keep the natty at work ) and it just tastes fake almost like you can taste the chemicals.

Almond butter is amazing too ---- I think no matter what if your eating natty/organic it has to be kept in the fridge.

i have been using the natty stuff for awhile, IMO it tastes way better and i think one of the reasons its been a staple for so many is its full of good fats i mean look at the palumbo diet where he calls to eat alot of nuts and or natty peanut butter, its not proccessed with tones of chemicals to make it consumor and kid friendly but it sure tastes good, i have some normal stuff i keep at my girlfriends house because i all the store had was jif, i hate it but im a peanut butter junkie so i eat it anyways.

Store it upside down in the fridge. Then when you open it there wont be all the oil at the top

I always use natural PB, but I ran out and used my gf's normal PB. The creaminess(sp?) is addicting, and it was very good. Sometimes I would have 6+ tbsp a day, and to think a lot of that is vegetable oil is kind of disgusting. Back to natural.

Usually do that. Last time I did it, I put the big wooden spoon in, and it squeeze the oil from the bottom out the top, like a zit exploding. lol

Natty peanut butter all the way. I don't want all that other shit in my body. I buy mine in the bulk section at save -on-foods. Dirt cheap 500ml (530g) was $3.13

Eat mine with celery pretty damn good if you ask me.

The oil added in regular pb is hydrogenated vegetable oil (trans fat), it's used to keep the pb from seperating. Looking at the label on regular pb, it says 0g per serving and is also listed last in the ingredients list which means it has the lowest quantity of all incredients. This means that it has less than .5g per tbsp which is a very minor amount. I know we've all been programmed to say natural is way better, but when you compare natural to a LIGHT regular pb, the only difference is really 1g of sugar.

EDIT:
Just pulled a few jars of natural out and there is one that actually lists 1g of sugar as well..... so between this one and light regular pb the difference is just in the less than .5g of hydrogenated vegetable oil. And trans fats in that small amount aren't going to make that extreme of a difference. So I'm going to go against the grain and say if you like regular, eat up!

I've got two jars of PB at work here and this is what they are :

PC- Just Peanuts ( amazing )

Ingredients : 100% Freshly Roasted Peanuts

Kraft Smooth PB

Ingredients: Select Roasted Peanuts , Soybean oil , Corn dextrin , sugar , hydrogenated vegtable oil , and salt.

Not much difference in the Nutritional Facts.

Natuarl PB has 10 cals more per tbsp

Big difference is the Sodium : PC has NONE , but Kraft has 70mg

protein is the same at 3g and Carbs is 1g less in the PC Natural.

70mg of sodium really isn't that much.
I don't know, I enjoy natural and I'll stick with it. Really, you read the ingredients in Kraft and it just doesn't sound good. Of course half the crap we eat doesn't sound good.

Agree , and that's why I try to keep my food as organic as possible. If I'm going to eat crap it's going to be ice cream and chips :D

It's kind of funny how some people are concerned with a few ingredients found in regular peanut butter, enough to say, "I don't want that shit in my body!".

And then it's time to take their next shot of Tren..lol :D

When I did biosignature with Poliquin he was very clear: "Do not eat Peanut Butter, even the natural kind; it contains a mould that has phyto-estrogens in it"

Peanut butter is a pretty darn good weight gainer as things go.
I'd be a little leery about eating 12 months out of the year but when you need to put on some weight it's a nice addition to breakfast.
