My wife cooked up some Lilydale chicken breasts last night, Im eating left overs right now, and it shocks me how big these things are...

From above they might look like a normal chicken breast, but they're like 3 times thicker. Each breast has got to be atleast 1lb. I dont know if I've ever seen chicken breast as big as the ones we're getting right now in my entire life.... WTF?!

I wish the grocery store had a section for the meats that were given extra growth hormones like we do all this hippy organic gayness.

point me in the direction of the cow that was given the most TREN and DBOL please.

i know what you're talking about. i had a few batches from costco, same lillydale clubpacks i bet, and these things were monstrosities. i also noticed the flavor\texture on some weren't great. in fact i stopped buying lillydale for a while because i was turned off their chicken because of this, but i've since gone back and have found them to be somewhat normal sized and taste fine again.

My parents raise chickens. You have never seen a chicken breast like the ones that come off of their birds. Their birds are organic.

Meat birds will keep growing until they die but when chickens hit a certain age the meat isn't as nice. It is all about finding the happy medium. Lillydale must have let their chickens get too old.

Lillydale has gone down the shitter lately as far as their quality of chicken has been. It always seems to be so tough and chewy, the meats is a criss-crossed and hard to cut.

Were they fresh or seasoned chicken breasts? I don't know about Lillydale but other brands of seasoned breasts are soaked in a salt water brine to plump them up, they are huge but mostly water and lots of sodium.

They were fresh club pack, like someone mentioned above, from Costco.

They cook up like softballs. The wife seasons them with Montreal Steak Sauce and they taste pretty good, I was just blown away by the size.

My dad has a buddy who lives in Shawville, and they visited a chicken farm and they were told that from birth they are indeed given "supplements" to grow to full size in 7 weeks!

The egg laying chickens are treated the same and when they quit producing they usually go to chicken weiners and/or campbell soup factories.

Personally, I don't see the big deal with giving our animals hormones, after all don't we do it to ourselves for the same results? Keep the chickens and give me those hormones!

My wife is a school teacher and she really notices kids growing faster, puberty is sooner and screwing is a lot younger now. She has some girls who are 11 and 12 years old with bras already. I tell you, it's all in the food.
