Just curious how much everyone spends. Just for yourself not including family members. I just got back from sobeys.

Mine was $130. It may vary depending what spices I need.

Dunno, probably about $80-$90 I'd guess.
Roughly 20 chicken breasts.
Large container of cottage cheese.
A lot of oatmeal.
Couple pounds of protein powder.

Saving some $$$ not buying chicken. I ate so much chicken, I can't eat that anymore. (probably because i'm very bad at cooking and have no variety). Ground beef most of the time. 120-140$/week

I haven't been that consistent lately so it's hard to tell. Some days I'll just eat subway and takeout, other days I'll pull out some frozen meat from the freezer. One thing is for sure, I'm consistently out of chocolate milk, eggs, and bread.

$50-80 a week bulking. I buy my meat when it's less than $2/lb and oatmeal, whole wheat pasta, potatoes are cheap. So is whey protein, and eggs. Egg whites in bulk from Costco.

Anyone else feel like plowing people over with their grocery cart when shopping in a busy grocery store?

I just went shopping in Trader Joe's at the peak shopping time... ****ing hell I felt like tossing people. It really tested my patience.... entered the realm of 'tren zen'. Took a big sigh of relief when I got outta there. I've always hated shopping when it's busy, but holy ****ing hell people grocery shopping are the ****ing worst... they just stop in the middle of the ****ing aisle with their cart, scratching their stupid little heads... how hard is it to be considerate of the people behind you lining up waiting for you to get the **** out of the way and move your goddamn cart to the side so we can get by???

Yeah, i bought some grass fed beef, non grain finished 120 lbs ....Some of the best meat ive had.....Aged 21 days dry aged, and triple A graded.....Nice yellowish fat not that white hard stuff.....According to the articles i read, the fat is actually good for you.....omega 3s, and chock full of CLAs.....little less than 6 dollars/lb, individually vacuum packed steaks and roasts, cut and delivered to the door.....
Grass fed beef, check it out....Mountaindog1 has a tonne of info on it from his readings, and Dr.Serrano also....:)

what they mean by grass I am sure is hay or alfalfa. good stuff, and most small farmers are grass fed. Most feed lots, and large farmers use chopped grain to fatten them up quick.

Mine varies quite a bit because ocassionally I stock up when chicken is on sale. I will buy 30-40lbs of chicken breasts at once and 25lbs of lean ground beef. So it spikes and dips varying on if I`m restocking lol. Sometimes $200+

....Here they get some alfalfa, but a lot of sprouted grains, not whole kernels, but sprouted barley etc.........many farmers grain finish their beef, it only takes 2 months approximately to convert the good fat to bad fat, and many small farmers supplement with grain, or chop in the winter...These guys dont do that.......I think they deliver to edmonton area as well.....
Google ..........TK RANCH, i got them off of eat wild......The man of the house is an ex bber also.....
Turns out they are neighbours of CCs family, so we got to talk quite a bit to them about their operation, they let you get your cowboy on and come help them ranch if thats your thing, you can even pick bessy out that you want to eat and store in your freezer.....lol...
CC thought it was strange as i was wondering around the herd poking them with a fork, she asked wtf i was doing, i said checking to find the tender ones.....lol,

Faller, i recvd an assortment, i also got the rest made into burger....also 1 lb siingle vacuum sealed packs.....
Steaks, roasts, and burger, with 1 opack of stew meat for CCs famous stew in January....
Organic chicken, turkey etc as well...;)

I was wandering because at $6 lb. thats double what we pay here. We just got a side and it was $3 lb, cut and wrapped though, not vacum packed. And all local grass fed beef..

Really, was it 6 bucks/lb meat only, as in what you put in the freezer????
Or was it 6 bucks /lb, hanging weight, bones etc....It is around 3 bucks out here for hanging weight...., then they de bone, cut etc, and remove waste, it ends up being a lot lost....I find it easier to just pay for the end product......I recvd 120 lbs in my freezer...
If it is 3 dollars/lb for what went in your freezer, then that is damn, damn good bro........

faller
25-11-2009, 02:33 PM
Ya it's $3lb. done and thrown in the freezer. About 3 years ago we were paying about $2.75lb. I'm surprised you guys pay that much liveing in cattle country and all.

We're about $300 every two weeks ( there is 4 of us ) . It's only this low because we buy a 1/2 about every 6 months or so . We don't need to spend money on red meat.
