The 120GB HDD I had ordered for my 360 came in on Friday. (It came from Hong Kong , about $75 shipped. Retail was $160 plus tax.) So I popped it in the xbox, it was recognized. Cool. So now I wanted to get the info from the 20Gb onto the new one. I was given a transfer cable but not the proper software. I was given some hacked version to read info on the drives using a computer.
Not sure how to get all the info from one to the other I created an image of the 20GB and dumped it on the 120GB and tried using it in the box, and it was no longer recognized. I didn't create a back up image for the 120GB so now i have no way of restoring it.
Anyone know of a way of getting it to work? I searched countless forums and to my dismay found no useful information.
Yesterday I found out my buddy had the proper software and cable to do the transfer, so I bought a new 120gb disk drive and transfered my content over and it works great.
If anyone knows how to reverse the damage I did please let me know. If anyone wants I can mail it to you and see if you can repair it. If you can great keep it for yourself, if not, just keep and throw it against the wall when you're having a bad day.
Either way it's a useless brick to me right now.
