What's acceptable to incorporate in your diet has cheat/meals or cheat day?

1. Is it better to have one cheat meal a week (during the weekend) or a cheat day (2 meals). I've also been informed eating whatever you wish (cheat meal) within 1 hour of your cheat day.

Before getting ready for a show (12 to 16 weeks) are cheat meals allowed? Again if they are allowed, what's acceptable?

Big thanks!

I'm sure someone else will speak up , but I also think it would depend ont the type of diet your on. I'm sure your doing a strick one since your competing but are you on a low to no carb diet? Because if you are then you will want to have a re-feed at least once a week , some do two for awhile . The closer you are to your big day the less you get .
If you do have carbs ( with litle to no fat) in your diet then I'm not sure you can have cheat days- maybe only meals and even then I'm not sure.

The best thing to do (espeically when your competing) is get a trainer who can spend the time with you and who will know your body , which will help you figure your body out better .

My diet kinda sux right now - Don't get me wrong, I do eat clean with a cheat meal during the wkd. I'm actually seeking my options in regards of a coach...

Mostly oatmeals, egg whites, protein for breakfast (over, and over). Usual chicken, turkey, tuna, (1) steak a week, spinach salad and all the suppl. needed. I'm gearing into the right direction, but I need some guidance (mainly why I joined this board, and to meet some men...errr I meant friends lol).

One cheat meal per week...for women and try to keep carbs to no more than 150g...thats running a keto type diet. A cheat day is way overkill for men and women and will slow fat loss.

What if your not running a keto?

On a low fat low carb diet...one refeed day...which is not a cheat day just double the amount of carbs eaten...ie if a normal day during the week is 50-60 g of carbs then a refeed day would be 100-120g carbs but spread out with each meal...ie 25-30g per meal. The carbs are also low glycemic...ie sweet potato etc no junk!

Very low carb diet. I'm on my iPhone or else I would go and do some searching for you. Google it or use the search function on this site.

FYI , it works very well if done proper.
