I know someone who was recently in Arizona and was pulled over for doing 120mph in a 70 zone, they were charged with a class 2 misdemeanor. As an American you would be subject to a possible $750 fine and 4 months in jail. I couldnt find any information regarding the treatment of Canadians in this matter.

Does anyone know the protocol involved on the subject? Assuming she makes a guilty plea and takes her sentense (most likely a fine) will she likely be losing her ability to travel to the United States in the future? Anyone know anyone whos been through this?

She will be getting lawyer, I just wonder how screwed she is...

Interesting question. I know when i was playing baseball in the souther states i collected about 3-4 speeding tix in my last year which i didnt pay. A bench warrant out of the local county was most likely issued for me, but i continue to cross the border up here in the north west and travel without any problems. keep us posted

My cousin went through something similar. He came back to Canada. He was driving my Aunt's car. Aunt goes back to the US with the same car, they pull her over and arrest her. She spent 2 days in jail because of the whole ordeal.

I don't know how it all worked out but I do know they were able to go back to the US after it was all cleared up. She owns a condo down there too.
