My dad is in the hospital with a fairly serious staff infection and has been for over a week. He is on some incredibly strong medication that costs over $50 a pill and they think he is going to be ok.

I cant even go home to visit him because he is in quarantine.

Sometimes I just want to curl up into a ball and ****ing cry.

This is so ****ed.

Stay strong bro - My thoughts are with you and your dad.

You'll pull through this and be stronger as a result of it.

Staph sure is making it's rounds... my mom just got hit with it as well. I had it for a year n half.. it's ****ing terrible.

I'm sure he'll pull through fine Jersey. Unless he contracted it from a recent surgery, the chances of succumbing to an infection are very very slim. An otherwise healthy person can fight it off, especially with the help of the right antibiotics. I wish I had gone a different route when I got it and went to the hospital.. I might not have had to deal with it for so long.

I'm not sure how open he is to alternative medicine, but something to look into after this ordeal when he's released and feeling better, is something called Chlorine Dioxide. It's marketed under one product name, 'MMS' or 'Miracle Mineral Solution', however you can basically get it by using something called Sodium Chlorite.

I can post more details if you or anyone else is interested. It's what finally rid staph from my body.

Hang in there dude. Things always seem to come all at once. When it rains it pours, and when all of this bad shit is over you will get bombarded with good shit. Its just the way the world works for me anyways.

you could always get back with the peeler...

Seriously though, you seemed to get over the last break up between you two fairly quickly, Im sure this will blow over for you in about a week. Your at uni right... didnt u just say you were checking out some hottie at the gym the other day... and youre out drinking every night... youll meet someone else in no time!

I got swine flu and couldnt play in the games that decided my fate between me and a couple other guys for the last spots as walk ons.

I also played the whole week feeling like I was gonna die every game but just ignored it because I was so excited about the opportunity. It really started to take its toll though after a few games when the boys are throwing their weight around consistently.

Really shitty luck....

Exactly dude, theres plenty more fish in the sea is all im trying to say, im sure you will now move on to better things! You did say previously you were not ready to settle down and you wanted to be able to be more selfish, so maybe this is a blessing in disguise? Youre just in the shock phase right now, in another week or so you will be excited about all the new opportunities out there....

Also staph is more than treatable these days, your dad should pull through no problem.

Your area has some of the very best boxing and muay thai gyms in ontario. Joining one of them could keep you in superb athletic shape, but say goodbye to gaining any mass though lol

Why would he go there, when he has a peeler who will give him free dances... and happy endings... at another club already??!

Bud Ive been in your shoes. My dad passed just over a year and half ago, It was sudden and unexpected. I know this is probably not what you want to hear but you need to try and get back home and spend some quality time with family. I know your in Uni, so am I. But profs are people too and are very understanding, I suggest if you can take a week away from school and go home.

As for your ex g/f you just need to move on. I know shes the one who got away, but again my highschool gf was the one who got away. I have moved on with my life and I know I will find someone who will make me equally as happy, theres plenty of fish in the sea but with a moopy attitude about things nothings ever going to happen...

^^ thanks for that kloan. you are clearly a caring human being. i actually just got back today from going home to visit for the weekend. my dad is doing much better now and has been home for almost a week. he is still on the medication however.

on a side note, i have finally been able to find solid ground with the gf as well. we are trying to make things work and i am going to finally clean up my act for good. its about time.

i appreciate all the kind words and truthful insight i have received up to this point. thank you very much.

Thats great about your dad.

and YOUR GF TOOK YOU BACK? WTF? HOW DID YOU MANAGE THAT AFTER EVERYTHING?

is she somewhat of a "damaged" individual? I mean honestly I cant understand how a self-respecting girl would return to you after all the shit you did. no offense.

^^ shes a tremendous human being with a forgiving nature. she really is the best thing that ever happened to me and i will not **** this up again.

shes not damaged at all. she comes from a great home and a great family. shes the one.

I hope you can keep your head straight and make things work with her. It sounds like you both have a tremendous amount of love for one another.

Glad to hear your Dad is doing better. Hopefully those meds are strong enough to keep him rid of staph for good. I've been back on the CD since my mom got it.. can't be too careful with this thing, it's very aggressive and a nightmare to have.
