There are usually 2 best times.
1) Boxing day is traditionally the best "sales" on electronics.
2) When they clear out the last year's models (which is real the serious mark downs happen)

Always thought the cheapest time was the week before the Superbowl?

Best time IMO is if you live near the border go across the line on Black Friday the day after american thanksgiving. Frigging deals on everything. Nov 27 this year. Its bigger than Boxing day sales

The best deals i have found is deals made from price matching via internet sales. I just picked up a 32" Sony LCD and saved an additional 10% off a already 35% off online sale.
Walk in, price match, walk out. Saved me $200

Boxing week and Father's Day usually have the best deals on TV's and electronics.

Think thats the one in Jan or Feb then. Ill wait till then plus not have to deal with Boxing Day lineup early waking madness.

Yeah, I gotta start looking for a new tube as well. Mine last week started to randomly fade black...like a shadow is coming in from the right side of the tv...eating the left side...it's pretty weird to watch. Only happens sometimes, but only a matter of time before it happens always I suppose.
And i'm pretty lazy to go looking at tvs so far...so...for now I named the shadow Joey.

They seem good bro - usually solid brands like Sony, Samsung, LG, etc.
Costco usually has ****ED up cheap TV's though during Boxing Week.
I remember a friend went last year and she bought her bf a tv for xmas, then they went and returned it to costco boxing week and got a bigger, better one for cheaper...

Just noticed that California will be banning flat screens due to power consumption. I would imagine that people will be buying then up pretty heavy keeping inventories low, and then the prices will plummet after the law comes into play

i sell these things for a living.... buy your products from a reputable independant dealer.. seriously! They usually will price match or come close... the thing is the consumer is PRICE PRICE PRICE, CHEAPER CHEAPER... well guess whats been happening with quality of products over these last couple years.. the products are getting cheap and breaking down more often... servicing is key, buy from someone who takes care of their customers is my advice from being in the business
