The World Bodybuilding & Fitness Federation (WBFF) is tearing up the industry by storm!
The BC event scheduled for April 17th, 2010 at the amazing River Rock Show and Casino theatre in Vancouver (Richmond).
A very successful world championships were recently held in Toronto, Ontario and saw in excess of 200 quality athletes and models take to the stage.
Over $100,000 in prizes, contracts and endorsements were given out. Three athletes received year long contracts with some of the top industry supplement companies.
The days after saw many athletes shoot for Status Fitness Magazine and Oxygen magazine with several WBFF athletes set to grace the cover of Oxygen.
Rodney Jang Editor in Chief of Status Fitness, David Ford Chief Photographer and Associate Editor of Status Fitness, Robert Kennedy Publisher and Editor for Oxygen, Musclemag, Reps, Maximum Fitness, American Curves, John Butler, Glen Grant, Jason Breeze, Liani Saadi, Doug Schnieder were all present front row taking in the hugh extravaganza.
The judges over the past 3 years have included IFBB Pro judge Winston Roberts, Wayne DilMelia, IFBB Pro Tammy Strome, IFBB Pro Stephanie Worsfold, IFBB Pro Henderson Thorne, IFBB Pro Laura Crevalle, Fitness Pro Ocean Bloom, Status Fitness Editor in Chief Rodney Jang, Musclemag Editor Bill Geiger amongst others.
Ultimately the WBFF seeks to provide the best in athlete recognition, opportunities and exposure using it's influential connections second to none in the Canadian and international markets of fitness and bodybuilding. The WBFF is raising the standard of bodybuilding, fitness, figure and fitness modeling to an entirely unseen before level!
The WBFF is quickly becoming a recognized name internationally because of it's reputation for delivering and conscientious work at promoting athletes amongst it's federation regardless of placement.
The WBFF is excited to be expanding across Canada with it's BC event scheduled for April 17th, 2010 at the amazing River Rock Show and Casino theatre in Vancouver (Richmond). Alberta's event is scheduled for July 3rd in Alberta. Both these events will provide great legitimate exposure opportunities as well as great prizes!

Too bad it wasnt scheduled around the Canadians in August or even the BC's. There might be more competitors entering this show if it were because April is just when most will start their prep for the Summer contests. Heck I'd do it if it were closer to the Canadians.

ok so Back Street Boys performing at this show was NOT a joke....this officially puts the WBFF in the JOKE category. And $80 for the night show? Who the hell has that kind of money to come out and support their friends? Some of the younger people arent made of money, shit just for a competitors parent to come support their daughter/son will cost them $160. Total BS! Unfortunately I will be giving the WBFF some of my hard earned money for the morning show to support my friend/client in figure which BTW is only a handful of girls. All the lazy girls want to enter the bikini diva crap now, lmao. Oh man I cant believe Im going to this show, last one I was running in and out of the theater to the bar in the casino just to make it half bearable.

Let us know if you find out if the "band" is a cover group or the original. There's no mention of this date on their website or the venue's which I would have expected to have seen as a business generator for the casino at least.

I went to the prejudging, thank god her class was shortly after the mens BBing of 2 classes and about 8 guys in total. I took off soon as the male fagness...I mean fitness started.

From what I've seen from the WBFF, it is targeting a different audience than what the cbbf targets. It overlaps on the figure/fitness/bikini part though.
It seems the competitors (aka "models") get some decent exposure for magazine shoots and promo jobs. The organization is making some serious money if they got The Backstreet Boyz at the show.
I know some of you can't take them seriously as they are not as "hardcore" as the cbbf/ifbb but they do provide another option for those in the fitness and bodybuilding lifestyle so I say good for them. Plus Paul Dillett was one of the hardcore not long ago. I wish him success with the organization.
**For the record, I'm not a fan of the male fitness genre. Too metrosexual for me**
But the women....they are smokin' hot just like the CBBF.

It's too bad the CBBF isn't allowing the bbers to crossover...as the turn out for WBFF bbing was limited...easy way to turn pro I suppose.

I was sitting in the front row for this, and 4 seats to my left sat the backdoor boys, thankfully they didnt perform, they just got up on stage at the start of the show and gave some plugs.
The funny part was a couple guys behind me were boo'ing quietly it was all i could do to hold in the laughter.
I should mention im just getting back into bodybuilding this year after 4 years off, and i did enjoy the show from the perspective of a person way down on the ladder. MuSuLPhReAk brings up a point that it is targeting different people.
But the women in this show were just , jesus titty ****ing christ hot. I was realy impressed with the 35+ ladies.
Bottom line, i realy enjoyed it, worth 70 bucks? yea i dunno

...trained @ Golds yesterday and ran into the STATUS MAG crew with all the winners doing a photoshoot. To say I'm fired up would be an understatement!

I think you guys are being too hard on the bodybuilders. sure they aren't going to place top 3 at cbbf nationals...but the winners of those classes would have done prety good at a regional show - and this is basically all the show was - yes it was "BC championships", but probably most were locals.

That Indian kid in the heavies was in my class at the WPFG, nice kid needs someone to help him that knows what their doing.
I trained a figure girl, she got 2nd in the Medium class. Her first show and really only been training under a year now.

omfg....i am moving to BC and marying #110 (second competitor)....
Haha, i sat beside #110's mom, the girls name is Kaitlyn, and her husband was competing in this too . I think her moms name is Karen i cant remember, but the mom is an ex competitor aswell . Realy nice lady explained some of the nuances about the competition to me.

That Indian kid actually looked pretty good compared to a lot of the guys up there.
Honestly as hot as the diva whatever is, I have more respect for the figure girls, b/c I know they bust ass.
