What are there reasons for using a whey blend versus using a whey isolate?

I am down to my last pound of Whey blend and I want to stock up again.

Thanks!

Whey blends = absolute minimum amount of whey isolate in product.
Technically the first ingredient is supposed to be the majority ingredient, but this is BS a lot of the times, because even if you test them, it's hard to prove. ie. If you have an iso/con mix, and iso should be the main ingredient, you should have roughly 85% protein. But if this is tested and it's a few percentages off, really, they can't do anything about it. Plus you add in fillers, flavoring etc, even if it was isolate dominant, it would still be below 85%.

So in the end, a blend is not that much better than a regular concentrate. Years ago it wasn't a blend, it was just concentrate or isolate, but for the most part the prices are the same compared to now.

In my opnion, for the most part a regular concentrate is just fine. Though some with digestibility problems can tell the difference, an isolate for the most part is over rated, and all about marketing. I kinda compare it to waxymaize and dextrose. Waxymaize is supposed to be superior to dextrose, but you're paying 50x the price of it.

I find a difference in digestibility between a pure concentrate and an isolate or a quality iso/con blend.

Concentrate alone would make my homelife unbearable for the family----with the constant gas...lol

Also i find a difference in mixability. Pure concentrate usually needs a blender to mix whereas a good blend will shake just fine.

IMO the best blend for quality, taste and price is found at our board sponsor TrueSupplements.com

......................and you can get waxy maize there for much less than 50times the price of dextrose, in case you use it. :a+

Okay I exaggerated the price a bit, and the price of waxymaize has come down over the last year. When it first came out, only one compan had it, and it was a lot more expensive.

But you're looking at roughly $30 for 5lbs(cheapest one on bb.com) of waxymaize and $5 for for 5lbs of dextrose.

And I agree about TS, I would trust their 'blend' is actually what it is supposed to be.

We'll be posting up our COA's shortly for everyone to see and to silence any skeptics :)

Like Delt King, I also notice a difference in digestibility. If I don't use an Isolate, I'm constantly passing gas. I'll pay a lil extra for everyone else's comfort. Especially the girlfriend.

whey isolate is good prolly first thing in morning and post workout. where as a blend will kind of drip feed the body esp over night differnt release sort of like a time released vitamin pill as you would say.

i think its fine to use any time of the day, and isoalte is good post workout.

There is very little difference from isolate and a blend in terms of digestion time.

Agreed, micellar casein will digest slower however whey concentrate or isolate is very fast.

Okay, I will try to find a good price and stick with ISO.
