I preloaded a syringe for tomorrow morning. I did the was the hands step and clean the rubber stopper with rubbing alcohol. I used a 20g to draw then took the cap off and put a 23g for injecting. I placed it in a zip lock bag to keep it away from dirt and w.e else. Should I rub the syringe down with a alcohol pad witht he cap on the needle still before I inject? or am I just being a clean freak?

I think the only major problem with preloading is that the syringes are not made or tested for holding medication over time. If its just for a day im thinking you will be fine just follow the usual procedure.

Also why preload anyway, it just adds another risk and without much benifit?

Figured I would save some time for tomorrow. I think this will be the first and only time i preload.

I preloaded a syringe w/ 2ml a few days ago because I was supposed to go somewhere overnight. Didn't end up going. It was preloaded on Saturday night, injected Monday morning. Went fine, but I'm not going to do it again unless I absolutely have to.

I do it a day ahead all the time and never have problems.

Don't wipe the needle down with rubbing alcohol.

I think he was asking if he should wipe the whole thing down with the cap on...which is not nessicary.
