View Full Version : Milk and estrogen

So I got into a discussion with some people in regards to drinking milk. They were quite emphatic that milk is one of worst things you can drink. The main culprit being raised estrogen levels being passed on to the consumer from the drugs administered to cows to raise milk production. Myth or fact I don't know. Everywhere on the web I get contradictory arguments.

Just as added food for thought. I graduated from highschool 20yrs ago, now my wife and I currently live beside a highschool. Is it just me or do kids continue to develop bigger, stronger than we did at our age. Boys and girls are so much more developed than I ever remember back in my youth. Its seems like every guy in senior high is at least 200lbs. More conspiracy theory or look at our food supply and amount of drugs pumped into cows, chickens, grains to get bigger and produce more meat, milk etc..

I think the kids are bigger, but let`s not forget, much fatter as well, making them look bigger. I remember all the kids when I was in high school who people thought were "big" are now all fat. Do kids still drink milk today? I doubt most of them drink half as much as when I was in high school (15 years ago) so I`m gonna say they`re just a bunch of fat ****s...

Really... thats weird cuz here it seems like its cool for guys to be even skinnier than their girlfriends while they are in highschool... also they seem to like wearing their girlfriends pants wtf.
I totally agree that girls are developing earlier thats for sure, but I dunno if you can really blame it on just Milk since most women I know dont really drink a whole lot of milk. But I do think food in general is a lot less "wholesome" than it once was.

It`s true what you say about the skinny guys. It`s weird, now they`re either really skinny, or plain ****ing fat. No normal bodies...

I don't want this to be another rant about obesity. I was curious about the correlation between milk and estrogen.

I know what you`re saying, but increased estrogen is linked to increased fatness.

Its probably from the BPA in our canned foods and old water bottles, BPA acts like estrogen inside the human body... you can look that up, its much more likely the culprit than milk.

i agree the the kids are more developed at an earlier age. it's funny i was talking about this to a buddy of mine and he made a good point. he's comes from an asian descent and he said look at the asian girls born here compared to the ones from overseas, very few of the ones back in their country have big boobs, but a lot of ones born and fed here do. I don't think it's just the milk (although i've heard of lots of problems related to milk) i think it goes across the whole food chain. Look how fast and fat our chickens/cows/pigs etc... get compared to years ago. The technologies to pump them up and have a higher level of 'production' is crazy.... i still prefer to buy at the farmer's market when i can (especially out from the Mennonites in st. jacobs)
also, all of these kids eat a ton of McDonalds etc... very few of them drink milk, i think that fast food crap is fattening up a whole generation

^^^ arent most Asians really lactose intolerant anyway?
Id say 95% of the people I know personally dont even eat real food, everything they eat is either restaraunt food or something out of a can or package im also betting the same percentage of people cant even cook themselves a real meal. Its sad when I have people over and they find it "strange" that I cook all my own food... I have yet to date a girl my age(23) who can cook anything more complex than kraft dinner wtf!!!

I remember reading about that on t-nation followed by a new estrogen reducing supp called "M"... I don`t quite buy into that theory, but could very well be wrong.

the fact that this is true is pathetic...
i'm extremely glad i found a real "woman" in the new age of "girls".
i would be very interested to know why being the family staple, and the person most responsible for family unity became less important that showing your tits off.
i think being a "home maker" has really been degraded, and downplayed far too much. the fact that me remarking that a woman should be able to cook is now considered sexist is unreal, and the fact that teenage girls are being brought up to think that showing off your assets will get you through life without them having to actually learn anything is horrible. thanks paris hilton and britney spears...honorable mention goes to the media.
that's not to say that males aren't growing up equally as useless...boys and fat should not be associated...where are all the athletes? Oh yeah, taking the Madden Challenge! I mean I played video games growing up, but I was also on 2 baseball teams every summer and skied in the winter...and I was an only child who didn't have someone to play with unless i got on my bike and went looking for kids! Kids seem to be more interested in the playstation network friends than real friends...or at least the fat bastards look like it!!!!
i feel sorry for the next generation of kids...it's only going to get worse.
</rant> holy hell, that went offside in a hurry haha
I haven't bought red meat from the store in years. I just can't stand the fact that they put so many chemicals in the meat . From the sterods they pump into the cows while they are alive to the dye's that are used to trick us into thinking that the brown hamburger is actually red ( until you break it open at home ). I do buy my chicken from the store and I'm sure that's not any better . Hopefully I can get away from that too.
As for the fat kids ,they have no one to blame but there lazy parents. It's hard to beleive that even active kids ( play hockey or whatever ) are still over weight. My kids don't eat the healthest and I'm sure just like I was as a kid that if my wife and I didn't force them to eat chicken breast and rice or ground beef , steak , fish they would be happy to live off of pizza , burgers and cookies.
My kids do drink a lot of milk and by no means are they bigger than the average kid you might even say they were smaller , but they are a lot leaner than most kids .
It's a shame how many people don't eat proper and shove more process shit in there faces. There are more chemicals and empty calories in all that crap.
The way I see is you can't control the rest of the world only what happens under your roof.
As for the milk and estrogen ( what this whole thing is about ) I just don't see it. I think milk is fating and has a lot of calies which can be good if your using those calories , but if your just sitting around doing nothing than your going to get fat and prop get bitch tits ( or what looks like bitch tits ). All in all I like milk and think it has it's purphase in life.

Some interesting info (which may or may not be true, take it with a grain of salt I suppose):
http://www.vitaminb17.org/milkinfo.htm
In any case, I don't think it's normal to drink cow's milk. There's a lot of whole foods that have calcium:
* Salmon
* Tofu
* Rhubarb
* Sardines
* Collard greens
* Spinach
* Turnip greens
* Okra
* White beans
* Baked beans
* Broccoli
* Peas
* Brussel sprouts
* Sesame seeds
* Bok choy
* Almonds
Plus, magnesium is essential for absorbing calcium, of which milk is pretty low in. I do drink a little milk here and there, but it's organic. Huff n puff all you want, but I'd rather limit my exposure to commercially processed foods that are potentially harmful to my health, and organic foods are a few steps closer in the right direction.

We do have laws here governing how much hormone content food can have, but you can bet that as the people's in government salaries go up, so does the hormone content. But that is one reason tren was banned from use in cattle implantation here in canada. I dont believe that estrogen would be found because it is something else they use to increase milk production I believe. although that could be a problem also.
