1) Women who walk slow in groups on the sidewalk. No disrespect to orientals but normally it is asian women who walk like they drive

2) People who have never seen Top Gun. Just quit life now.

3) People who have no clue about 80's hair metal. If you don't know who Sebastian Bach is then you probably listen to Lady Gaga and/or Madonna

4) People who make excuses about not wanting to "get too big". What? I guess you don't want to get "too rich" or "laid too much" either. Douches

5) Guys who wear weight belts. If you have a belt that you bought at a commercial gym or some fitness store chances are it is a fashion accessory. A real man's belt has to be ordered from people like Titan or Inzer and takes months to break in. Also these should not be worn for bench pressing 135lbs.

6) Fat people on scooters. This is the epic fail of society. So fat that they can't even walk to the grocery store to buy their doughnuts and 40's of Molson Ex.

7) Liberals. Can you people stop spamming my facebook telling me to join groups that advocate ending violence by registering firearms of law abiding citizens. What now? Should we ban kitchen knives too?

1. Walking on sidewalks is for poor people.

2. I've seen it and it sucks.

3. I was an infant in the 80's, if the music is so great why does everyone hate it?

4. Contrary to the general concensus on this site, most people think body builders look sick. When people look over my shoulder and see me watching a vid of Jay or Ronnie, they say "Thats disgusting".. some girls wont date guys that arent skinny.

5. I dont see a problem with wearing a normal weightlifting belt, a 500lb squat doesnt warant a huge contraption of a belt, a simple belt is fine.

6. Would you prefer they walk slow and take up the whole sidewalk? (see no.1)

7. Facebook is for losers, you shouldnt even be on there.

1)Downtown MTL. Why drive when it is quicker to walk?
3) People hate people like Bon Jovi cause they don't rap
4) I am not talking Jay Cutler size, but if a guy is 165 and 5'10" and he doesn't want to get too big? He looks like he was on the Ethiopian diet
5) Belts that use velcro are not belts.
6) If they were at least walking they would lose some of their fatness. Common scooters in the store?
7) BDH has facebook so therefore it is not for losers.

It are the little things that we shouldn't sweat, but everyone here who has worked hard in the gym or busted their ass off at the job knows that the little things make all the difference.

People who ride their bikes and think they are saving the planet piss me off too. It's a ****en stop sign so when you bike through it and get hit by a car don't act surprised.

things that piss me off lately....

loud mouth breathers

fat people who eat themselves even fatter, and talk loud with their fat voices

people who do chin ups in the one and only power rack

partial pressers who lift their legs and flatten out "to really target those pecs"

municipalities who tax the good people going to work with photo radar and other camera devices

g-unit faggot gangster wannabes who wear their hats sideways

tap out gear

leg press users who load up every possible plate, and do 2" partials

affliction shirts

touque wearing faggots in the gym with an affliction shirt, and a tap out hoody often seen doing partials on a "total body workout"

guys who walk around in the gym with imaginary lats... you know the ones... like they are huge but they arent...and often dress like faggot on previous line

the mma fag (training in the community family gym) who does his sit ups with his feet anchored under the dumbell racks. he has been close on many occasions to getting a dumbell in the head as I walk by

ummmm. people who take the spirit out of christmas, and are offended by its tradition. usually people born abroad who were taught well how to abuse the human rights charter in canada

whoever decided canada was no longer a "melting pot" and that it is now culturally diverse.

the unemployed

drug addicts

community police or bylaw officers (peace officers who wannabe a real cop). ****ing glorified dog catchers who should be out fining people who dont pick up their dog shit in the park get issued radar guns and now figure theyre cops.... fags

like bowlcut... environmentalists.... like were just going to NOT take the oil. **** off already. and to be perfectly honest.... i could use the climate being a few degrees warmer...

Jealous chicks, especially jealous gym owner bitches, that give digs and claim my ol lady is on steroids and tries to convince as many girls as they can thaty my ol lady is a steroid freak....lolol, shes never touched creatine until this year let alone vitamin J.....All Because jealous gym owner competed in same show the yr prior to my girl and got her ass handed to her and my girl kicked ass, oh, and gym owner DOES INDEED use steroids, and told us so big time in great detail, until we told her CC is all natural......then the shit hit the fan....lol

bro.. I am one day going to be a dictator. I am destined.

I think it will likely happen after a Western Canadian separation.
The east and west will go to war, and after a bloody conflict. A man will rise to power.
At first, he will have been a common soldier fighting for his land and people. But through triumph and leadership in the battlefield, he will slowly rise through the ranks, and one day, after many years of war...become supreme commander. He will show the eastern armies no quarter, and through tactics and bravery, cause them to succumb. When the western armies march through the streets of Ottawa, a surrender will be negotiated, with Waderow taking the throne.
His politics will support free trade, but will have some socialist attributes, such as only exporting refined products. The economy will prosper. The poor and lazy will be forced to work, and socialist welfare practices will cease. User fees on healthcare. Small government. Low taxes. The Americans will embrace him. The EU will have no choice but to accept him.

Heil Waderow! songs will be written.

No i dont believe you know them.......Unfortunately, they owned the gym, so we left, before cc knocked her skinny ass out...lol
It was a gym in my area......Lots of funny folk there, chubby chicks , and tubby guys giving lectures and wouldnt come on a board, or post pics if their life depended on it........lol
I dont mind crap being said about me (its a given), because i do use, but when someone busts their butt, and doesnt judge people that use, or do not use and doesnt care one way or the other, and said gym owner tries to ruin my best friends reputation and downplays her hard work, then it is a big problem for me....Especially when being hypocritical in the process...

Oh why isn't Remembrance Day at holiday in Quebec like the West? I am no fan of government dictating when shops can open and close, but why is it in Quebec schools are open but places like Alberta close down.
Heaven forbid somebody want to stay open for some Saint named Jean, but apparently sacrilege doesn't apply to the men who died (usually needlessly) in war?

things that piss me off lately....

the unemployed

we didn't all have recession proof jobs, bud...i for one, am not going to go get a job that pays less than EI does...that's just stupid! It's not as if all unemployed people abuse welfare because they don't want to get off their ass...some of us just got unlucky. There are a lot of people who lost a hell of a lot more than I did, and rather than being pissed off at them, you should concentrate on how lucky you are to still have a good job...assuming that is the case.

some of us don't live in big cities where good paying and secure jobs are easily attainable...and I'm not moving out of a city that currently has my gf on it's payroll.

this shit will be over soon enough, and you can find something else to get pissed off about.

sorry man, but the idea that someone is angry because i lost my job that i didn't want to lose or set myself up to lose is a bit retarded! there are a lot of people who got ****ed because people making too much money didn't know what the **** they were doing...and i'm one of them.

what pisses me off? people making blanket statements and kicking others while they're down! Trust me bud, if any trades business were looking for apprentices where i live...i'd have been re-employed long ago.

In all honesty we forgot about it. My wife and I were in an english pub last night for dinner and the Legion band came in playing the bag pipe's and handing out poppies. I phoned my kid and we shut down work for today, we have a lot of elderly clients, didn't want to be disrespecful..

just taking a wild guess here...... you sit on your ass letting your GF pay the bills, and sit there playing video games and eating pizza pops hoping one day you get your job back (where you were likely overpaid to begin with), and in the mean time, you are content with EI. Instead of going out every day looking for work, or finding creative ways to EARN, you choose to be content with a shitty EI cheque and do the latter (pizza pops and call of duty xbox shit).
Good for you... but I would sooner eat a bullet.

p.s. I live in a city of 13000, and opened a business here 2.5 years ago. Pre-recession. I diversified and took on different markets that I initially didnt want to look at, but I MADE things work. I just didnt sit on my ass HOPING it would work

hell even in big cities, getting a job can still be hard. there are that many more people to compete with. especially when companies are trying to meet their racial diversity quota.

getting a job is hard if you expect it to be handed to you. if you go out and work for it, you can find something. The economy being slower means employers are not hiring just bodies... they are hiring people who are ambitious and willing to work hard.

Yup, its tougher now, 1.5 yrs ago i had to hire almost anything with a heartbeat and recvd very few resumes....Now the exact opposite, i spoke to other managers and we are being much more choosy in our hiring now...Now is the time to get the good ambitious hard workers, so you have a stacked team when things get better again....
Times have changed a bit, and im happy about it....

You and I are of a different mentality. In theory I agree with you but this world requires all kinds of people to make it work and not everyone can be a doctor, lawyer, own a business (some just have no business sense - not talking about work here... talking about day-to-day operations of running a company), etc, etc.

Plus you don't know his circumstances. Maybe he has children which make it difficult to "make that change", or maybe he has a disability but wishes not to be ON disability... lots of factors.

Just like labeling the fat person as lazy. Sometimes there are circumstances beyond their control.

i was underpaid at my job. i took less money to keep my job, so you can kiss my ass about the overpaid statement.

On a purely theoretical note EI actually increases the rate of unemployment and this was confirmed by a study done for the Fraser Institute that showed NB has higher rates of unemployed than Maine as a result of more generous payout rules.

Ideally the government wouldn't steal so much from everyone's paycheck and they could save that money for a rainy day. Chunk did a smart thing by saving, but it looks like you are going to probably have to move.

I get at minimum, 10 recruiters per week calling and emailing me looking for people to place at openings they have, and they ALL want journeymen, and possibly 4th level...That is recruiters across the country, AB is happening now, but still wanting journeymen...

I think you'll be hard pressed to find this, espeicially trades. When i was still falling i would on average work for 4 companies in any given year to make my year. In the 30+ years i did fall the longest that i worked for one company was 3 years. It made no difference to the companies, but in the first few years of moveing around so much it did make a difference to the bank, they, for the longest time veiwed that as unstable.

i'm talking in general, not necessarily in the trades. I've had bosses tell me to throw out resumes because of no previous job stability...I wouldn't be surprised if there were still a ton of old school bosses who view things the same way. I can understand the logic in trades jobs being viewed differently though especially when you consider union guys going where there is work and not having a "stable" Monday to Friday job...I agree with you on that point 100%.

The last 5 or so years company's were actually starting to ask for resume's something we had no idea how to even address. The more logging contractors you had on that resume the better your chance's were of getting work.

Sounds like an Alberta POV to me....... If Tims paid $15hr in NS, that would almost pay your bills...... The last guy I heard brag about never being on EI went to work for his Father right out of trade school, and took over the business when his dad retired. So between that and using his dads contacts for jobs, no wonder....

I'm on EI right now, and I'd rather have a good paycheck and be around the guys than get 55% of a 2nd year apprentices rate.... You think its bad in Alberta with a 8% unemployment rate? Thats called just another day on the East Coast.
I worked for a company that laid off half of its guys ( around 45 ) and Iron Will said it, when it comes down to it ambition, drive, attitude, all these things help, but the apprentice gets the axe before the Journeyperson almost every time, the Journeyperson is more valuable.
I could go work for some greedy asshole for less $$$, work weekends for strait time, forget about benefits, and help drive down the value of my trade and everyone in it. But I'd rather get the EI that I paid into, and if/when it runs out I'll shovel snow or pickup garbage before I work for some scabby cocksucker.
The biggest thing this recession has shown me- The cheapest, dirtiest guys who don't play by the rules stay busy when everyone else is laying off.

what morals you have bro. You would sooner be a bum and sit around and do nothing on pogey, and turn down non-union work out of respect for this perceived "brotherhood", than actually work and put earned money in the bank... get used to it. thats life and thats capitalism. union bullshit with hyper inflated wages for wrench twisters (no offense) only works in times of severe growth. And furthermore.... this recession in Canada was largely caused by the unions. There was so much work that was put on hold and canceled due to union greed, that the trades would have been busy for 20 more years. Instead, projects saw multi-billion dollar cost overruns, strikes, and all sorts of bullshit, so now the greedy unions are sweating it out

I always thought scabbing was a good thing...kind of a way to stick it to your boss and show him he's not what's keeping you afloat, it's your skill. It's a great way to earn money...if I had enough experience, that's what I'd be doing for sure.

I don't think he was talking about scabbing, he's talking about bad employers. People who underbid eventually go out of business, but they do a lot of harm to good employers in my opinion, not to mention the person who doesn't see all the short cuts. I used to be sick to death looking at other people's sloppy work, it just makes everyone else's life tougher. If you don't have any integrity about your work, you shouldn't be working! The good thing about trades is that they stay local, you can't import an electrician from India, China, or Taiwan...that's how I lost my last job.

I'm def. not a union guy, and waderow's response is a perfect example of how the public views union guys, but I think rob was over simplifying himself because he didn't like the fact that there are people out there who come down on unemployed because they don't want to take an extreme pay cut while they try to find another shop (in this case)...sooner or later wade, you've got to accept that it comes down to money, not ambition. I definitly understand your anger (for lack of a better word) over the "union mentality" though, as it is always going to get shit on because lets face it...there are a lot of lazy ****ing union brothers out there! I've never seen guys work so nonchalant in my life! I know guys who've had to close the doors because their employees decided to bring in the union...that's bullshit I can't stand...if you want to be union, work for a union shop...

As for the "wrench twisters" comment, wade...it's true, trades might not be the most difficult of jobs in some people's eyes...but salaries are hardly inflated. There is a good chance of death and injury every day for a tradesman, and they need to be compensated for that. I was making minimum wage working on live circuitry...tell me how that's fair in any way, shape, or form! I could have easily died and left my family totally ****ed at the time.

You are you, and I am me...I don't mind getting into it with someone but I didn't appreciate the inaccurate personal attacks on my character...you have a "don't **** around" business mentality though, so I don't see how you won't succeed.

the way he talks, he is union, but I guess we will see.

I have extensive knowledge of unions, union sites, union workers, and the way they work. In fact, I have worked numerous times on union sites (hands on) in my particular trade, but have yet to pay a union due (go figure). I have taken part in almost every union site in Alberta up until 2007, and have worked hands on, but mostly in contract negotiations, bidding, estimating, and management.

Trades people earning $38.00 per hour and double time after four tens is overpaid...sorry ($76 per hour plus LOA can add up to over a grand a day sometimes). Especially at the pace the union boys work. Radio the labourer to come and move the roll of fence so the carpenter can cut a 2x4 off a form so the iron worker can get his wrench onto an anchor bolt on a pile cap............ this will take a day.
I have seen trades people earn $5000+ per week and hardly break a sweat doing it.... Unions have contributed to ruining the economy....period.

As far as your comment about danger, there is not a "good chance" of death. Sorry. Only for the retards. There is certain dangers...yes. But if you use common sense, and keep your head straight, accidents are very rare.

AND OH YA!!! I personally know of Unions sabotaging non union sites. Loosening bolts. Removing braces. Down right ****ing illegal shit. The ironworkers mostly do this militant shit and put in workers into scab sited to **** shit up. If I knew the names they would be in jail. This knowledge comes from inside the IW hall.

I also believe that the IW union was responsible for the accident at Horizon http://www.fortmcmurraytoday.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=1535612

As far as trades not working hard for their money....im not sure where you guys that say this have worked, but ill tell you that is not the majority, it may be in some places i totally agree, but many wrench turners, are damn hard workers and face more risk in 4 hours on many jobs i run,,, than many careers face in a year or more......We have confined spaces, highly explosive atmosphers that take a greatly skilled individual to work and thrive in, working at heights, coming in contact with all types of perils that need to have a risk assesment done prior to entering, now im talking about mining, pulp and paper and forestry type jobs, not cushy little city worker trades jobs, real men, real work......High speed equipment, 8000 horsepower plus motors, running 600 foot long kilns, and ball mills, roller mills , crushers, on and on.....Not for the weak of heart...I guarantee not many can do my job, nor the job my guys that work for me can do...Ive seen many come and go....But i also hand pick my guys, with my interviews and my thoughts and visions of what i want...I hire very few good men, and turn many, many away.....
So lets not paint them all with one brush, im a multi ticketed tradesman as well as having a professional designation to my name, so i have earned my way, worked form a shoveller all the way up to the highest of positions and back up and down again for fun as i love to be on the floor more than an office, so.....just wanted to throw that out there, you need to get out more if that is your opinions of trades....seriously......

Here on the west coast before the union got declawed there were some horror stories. Fallers would shut down camps because there was no bannana's for lunch, or they were out of pie's, the guys just went back to their rooms and commenced drinking ( lots of that)....

Today it's a different world out there, the union has virtually no power left and it now is a very shitty place to work. It has kind of come full circle, not as bad as back before union's were around, but it's heading in that direction.

Ive always been torn when it came to union issue's, i personally never had much use for their work ethic and their abuse of power but to me they were a nesassary evil. They did set a standard even for us non union type's.

I respect your style of construction. When I was involved, my non-union shit went this way as well. Get the job done and quit your bitching. Youre the kind of guy I would want on my site or as my employer. The Union mentality of "dont work yourself out of work"...as you can see, doesnt sit well with me

agreed bro.....Again farmer mentality.....on my end.....;)
i used to get all the time...."slow down bro, you did that job in 4 hrs, it normally takes 8, now they will expect that from us all the time,,,,you can imagine my response....One time a couple of guys came out in a deserted area i was working in to convince me....lol, i dont think they got what they wanted out of the conversation.......It gets annoying....to say the least, but you know in the end, i got a lot of respect, even from the hardcore union guys, at the beginning i spent a lot of time on my own side of the lunchroom reading books, then they wanted me on their team, then i became their boss......

i used to get all the time...."slow down bro, you did that job in 4 hrs, it normally takes 8, now they will expect that from us all the time,,,,

i never really understood that mentality either...i guess integrity isn't as important as the mandatory coffee breaks and hunting chit-chat. I also never really understood why someone would want to dog **** for an entire shift and make a day drag on when they could work hard and watch the time fly by...long days only get longer when you seduce feefie!

i mean, i can understand the 50-60 year old who's busted up and has slivers in his ass from a long and hard career taking a couple of shifts off...but the union guys i'm talking about are 20-40...and that's just rank!

by the way IW, i checked into that EI stuff...they allow you to be on EI while you're in trades school, but unfortunately I was never signed up for apprenticeship so I can't even get into the course...boo-urns! thanks for the info, though.

On a side note - waderow: you certainly have strong opinions...but I have to be honest with you...while you pissed me off big time when you first started into me...i totally understand what you were talking about now...the fact that you pissed me off actually is motivation. So when I get a job - I'll give you a friendly "**** you" and we'll move on from there! haha jk, man. I think you got the wrong impression of me, and I had the wrong impression of what you were trying to say.

you know you're the arnold to my louie (how turbo gay was that?!) I can't wait to rub you the wrong way next time so i can use it for motivation on the bench!

Youre the kind of guy I would want on my site or as my employer. The Union mentality of "dont work yourself out of work"...as you can see, doesnt sit well with me

I don`t know what Union, or where your talking about..... In my Union the Company hires all the Foreman, and its 50-50 between name hires and Union picks, sometimes its 100% name hire.... Believe me, if your figuring on stretching a 4 hour job into an 8 hour job you won`t be there long, and the Union has no say in it. You`ll get a lay-off, and someone else will take your spot...

You guys have to distinguish between CAW guys pushing a broom for $25 hr, or working an assembly line and guys who work in a construction trade. If you think theres nothing dangerous about working on a live 600 volt 3 phase panel, I`ll give you a screwdriver and a blueprint and stand about 100 ft away, wearing a good pair of sunglasses for when you light up.....

Things are a lot different in in the West, and Alberta in particular.... I know MANY tradesmen there, you don`t have to work Union to make a fair wage.... Things in the east are a lot different, instead of Employers competing for talent, theres so many qualified guys out of work its all about lowering the bar..... You guys have worked all your lives in a prosperous place, you ever worked 100+ hours a week for strait time, for a guy driving a 70k sports car..... non-existent safety standards..... benefits where the employee paid in 100%...... And if you don`t like it, guess what... Theres un-employed people waiting to take your place, and employers know it....

My opinion of Unions is if the economy is like Alberta`s, they become redundant because employers are forced to compete.... In NS, your lucky IF you get the minimum as defined by the Government..... A safe work place, overtime after 48 hrs a week..... Which is why half the ****in oil patch is Maritimers.... Ask your local transplanted Maritimer, I`m sure he`ll fill you in.

I don`t have any issue with any non-union guy or company.... Everybody has to do what they think is best, we`re all trying to make a living.... That whole sabotage thing might have been common at one time, but not any more. When I said `scabby`I meant a company that has Journeymen getting $15-18 hr, getting rich at the expense of someones desperation...... Is there many $20 journeymen in Alberta? lol..... I have permission to work non-union, its not forbidden Wade.... If someone offered me a fair wage, theres no difference between Union and Non... The question is do I want to pick up garbage or some other shit job rather than make the same money working non-union.... I like ya bro, but some of your perceptions of what its like are way off... And yeah, I'd take more pride in picking up garbage than working for a contractor that paid less than what a garbage man gets..... Pride in the fact I'm not lessening the value of my trade.

One other thing for all you die-hard Union haters to think about..... I don`t know about in Alberta, but here its all open competetion..... Theres no Union Jurisdiction...... Union Shops compete against non-union, the lower bid wins... So how is it that a Union shop paying a third more can actually win a bid.... Think about it..... How much profit does a non-union shop make on average paying two thirds the wages that a Union shop pays..... Is someone making a killing.....

The Union journeyman rate here is $28 + BTW...... $38 hr lol I wish....... Maybe in 10-15 years.....

I`m not getting rich, or trying to sneak out of a days work. I want to earn my buck. I make less than a ****ing Tim Hortons worker does in Alberta, and I`m a Union Apprentice..... You don`t even want to know what non-union Apprentices are getting..... Theres a good chance I will wind up working non-union, because they are underbidding everybody here.... The Union shops can`t compete with guys who pay so much less.... Company I worked for layed off 45 guys out of 90..... You guys are in a place where unemployment was non-existent for a long time, things are different in the East... Ask around, I`m sure Will has had a few Resumes come across his desk from the East.

Couple of things I`d like Chunk to elaborate on... He mentioned working on live panels, are you in the sparky trade...

He also mentioned that Canada doesn`t bring in trades from other countries.... I worked with 2 guys who were at CNRL...... They said there were work visa`s everywhere, Mexicans, Chinese, Middle East......

Site, Shop, Home - for good.

You have the "right to refuse unsafe work" and I exercised that right.

If shit is bad enough, you get your pink slip and head straight to the EI offices...there is absolutely no shame in that! **** the line up behind you at your former employer's door!

I'm not talking about not knowing how to run a sawsall here, I'm talking about rescue support! i should probably mention that this was not a trades job...just to make sure anyone reading this didn't get the wrong ideas about tradespeople.

and yes rob, i started out as a sparky...

I excercised my right too... When EI called my former employer, he/they refused to talk about it lol. In the end I recieved EI after they investigated, but it reinforced that the Government can't really do much pro-actively about guys like that. Safety regulations are a joke when it comes to enforcement, I could tell you some storys....
After many years working various jobs, including Construction labour before I got indentured into the Sparky trade, my previous experiences are the single biggest reason for me trying out a trade Union... I'm not Mr. Union here, I've been in about 1.5 years.. So far, so good. Nobodys asked me to do anything they wouldn't do themselves yet.....

What level are you at in the Sparky trade?

You can turn pictures black and white, and highlight flowers, congrats!! You're the real deal!!

I also like how every girl wants to be a model these days. Just so they can say they're a model, instead of a broke ass hoe who blows men for dinner dates. the way he talks, he is union, but I guess we will see.

And Chunk, I am not saying you dont work hard when your working and dont deserve a living.... I am however saying that if there is no work, you need to go get it, instead of sitting around waiting for it to come to you

Theres so many inaccuracies and stereotypes here the only thing I can figure is your trying to hurt my feelings lol...... Mr. Alberta.

I don't know why a tradesman making $38 hr is a problem when the Oil Execs are making billions Wade. Market Driven, Capitolism....... Thats an interesting comment about Unions ruining the economy too bro, I'd like you to elaborate on that for me.
My understanding of things is that a bunch of fat cat guys on Wall Street were giving themselves hundreds of millions in bonuses while screwing the long term health of their companys.... the whole epicentre of this was Wall Street, this IS a global economy... So how exactly did Unions influence the Execs?

The top 1% of the American population controls 95% of all wealth.... But unions are the problem?

In ontario etc the people drive down the wages because they will work for real cheap, and will live 3 families to a home....In certain cultures....I left there because the wages sucked ass because guys will work for dick all....Supply and demand man, the people are in abundant supply, and there isnt a whole lot of demand for them since the manufacturing and export took a dive and killed the golden horseshoe, but awhile ago it was the opposite, us out here in the west were behind you fellas, things change......

Yup, i started at the very bottom.....I worked construction trades and was labourer, millwright, welder, ironworker, foreman, and general foreman, and superintendent etc. for 16 yrs....I know all about it, not trying to sound egotistical, but it is true. Worked pretty much coast to coast as well......Managing sparkies, ironworkers, welders, millwrights, carpenters, brickies, masons etc.....Multi ticketed tradesman myself.....Loved it, it is a different world in construction, that is why i was saying it is not the norm for unions to be sabotaging, dog****ers, but does happen from time to time, unfortunately thast is what people see of the unions via media....
In construction if i had a dog****er, i could give him 4 hrs pay and send him home, or a druggie, drunk late guy etc....In my present environment, not even close to that easy, its a huge long paperfilled process to get rid of someone and make it stick....

I had a challenge transitioning from construction to what i do now.....
Its like this, in construction its like a one nite stand, you get in, get all you can, giver shit, ride em hard and put them away wet...If you dont like what you have you kick it out....
In maintenance with caw , steelworkers unions etc, its like a marriage...you could potentially be with them a long time, you need to manage, know how to resolve conflict, work through personal issues etc...And if you want to get rid of them its a long paperfilled trail and expensive to do so...
Thats my best analogy of comparison of construction unions, and all the rest....:shock

I agree with everything you said, most of that novel of a response I posted was pointed at Wade.
I pretty much see everybody in any trade as a brother, we're all in the same boat, and we all know what it means to work for a living. I want to see everybody do as well as they can, Union or not.
I hope everybody reads what you said regarding your attitude towards your guys on a construction job, because thats how it is. We're paid well, but expectations are high. I have not run into many Construction Foreman that were pussys.... Its a tough world, full of tough men.

Chunk- I don't know anything regarding pre-employment courses, but I know that EI will sponsor people to go to Trade School. In my case they allowed me to recieve the remaining weeks of EI that I had left, but I know people who had their Tuition paid, books, and even living expenses....

I once saw a guy say he drove from half way home back to belleville because his coffee was burnt and he wanted a new one. The funny thing was that it probably cost him 5-8 bucks worth of gas! hahaha. I can understand his anger though, because there were only about 3 other customers in the place at the time...I understand messing up on busy mornings, but at 7 PM there's no excuse.

Still, there are only 3 steps:
1. Pour FRESH coffee
2. Hit cream button
3. Hit sugar button (or spoon in sugar - not sure)
