I'm looking for something to reference, whether it be a journal, or some Canadian medical web site, that lists Testosterone ranges in Canadian Units.

I wish to present this to my doctor when I talk about my levels, this month.

I had my testosterone levels checked in 2006, and the lab printed that the lower limit was 4.5 mmol/L to high level of 26.3 mmol/L which would be 129.7 ng/dLto 757.9 ng/dL.
I don't think this is correct?

I'll even settle for some study done in the US.

I just need something my Doctor is going to believe.

Someone help me out?

I've spent hours looking....

Thanks

Try this link its a unit converter/calculator between US measure and Canadian measure. http://www.vin.com/scripts/labquest/converthtml.pl

In the drop down menu pick testosterone...it also has every other unit based on blood work.

As for Canadian ranges it really depends on the lab your doctor uses. I use Gamma-Dynacare labs.

There ranges are
Total testosterone 8-38 nmol/L
Bio available test. 2.5-18.7nmol/L

Using the above link to convert that would be

Total test 228.57-1085.71 ng/dl
Bio available test 71.42 - 534.28 ng/dl

In the US the range is from 200s all the way up to 1200ng/dl but remember these are just what the labs call "reference ranges" and in reality can mean shit. Your doc. should be doing a full hormonal and blood panel. Also request you get your bio available testosterone done..you might have to pay out of pocket for that ( I pay $55).

My HRT doc likes to see my bio available at 30 nmol/L

I just had to pay $50 for mine too. My doctor said everything was normal and he said the reading was 18.2nmol/l. Im not sure if that was total or bio available though.

usually they just do total test, doesnt matter how many times ive insisted on them doing my free test, they still dont, even after explaining what i do and why it needs to be done....

most likely total

mine was 10.56 :help i'm 33 now so being at the low end of the range sucks

no wonders i've felt like shit for the last 5ish years
on the gel now will be getting the nod for an endocrinologist in a month.
think i'll have to get back into the doc though as my next blood work only tests for prostate levels, he didn't include total test levels so how the hell will we know what the gel is doing (or not doing enough of). i am feeling a bit better though.

Ya, Im 30 and thought for sure it would be lower because I have shown most of the symptoms of low test. I guess its depression, lol. I need to get back to shitting lucky charms.:laugh
