The Hit

I am sure most are aware of this by now but here is the video showing the hit that landed one guy in intensive care and the other with a year long ban from the OHL. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMNGKQFdAtY

From what I can see, though it had a very bad outcome, it was a clean hit. If the guys helmet was properly fastened it would have not popped off so readily.

Here is a video of Scott Stevens and some of of the hits that made him famous. I suspect these hits would have garnered suspensions in the new NHL. It used to be that the thing that set hockey apart from other sports was the lack of whiners and divers.

Yeah...I don't see anything illegal with that hit either....banned for a year eh? Brutal.

Watch somne of those Stevens ones again. Nice elbows finishing off the check. The one on Lindros was pretty bad.

you can tell the guy turned as he was just getting hit...his head kind of swayed to the lower side....So no I would not say an intentional head hit.

WAY too many whiners in the NHL now days, and the juniors are following suit as well!!
