I thought that I would finally post a couple pics... This way you guys (and gals) will keep me honest and motivated.

The first pic is 5 weeks ago, I weighed in at 207lbs. The second pic I am 192.5

I think I have lost a bit of muscle, but its still worth it to tone down.
I go home in about 6 weeks and I want my wife to be impressed. lol and I want to feel good about myself as well.

Because of my circumstances, I cant always stick to a clean diet as I have no choice what I eat some days. I do supplement with protein everyday though.
I have been running (or chasing someone.. LOL ) everyday for the past few weeks. and lifting weights (12-15 reps) every day.

anyway. Its time for some critique.. LOL

If you want to maintain your muscle then DO NOT run...this will catabolze muscle tissue very quickly. A quick paced walk is fine for aerobic activity.

Great progress so far. You've definitely dropped some body fat. Is there any way that you could commit to a solid training and diet program? I think if you strictly followed something like Palumbo's you would melt the fat off, and since you are already pretty strong, you would probably be very happy with the results.

Commitment is the key! Looks like you are already putting in some serious effort so why not go the extra mile. The extra effort will be worth it in terms of muscle sparing and speed of improvement. Good Luck!

for sure when I get home in the new year I want to keep going on the progress already made.
Right now, following a strict diet like Palumbo's would probably not be possible.

I am serving in afghanistan right now, and some days I am on the road for a few days at a time.. meals are pretty much what we throw in the vehicle and ration packs. I do manage to drink plenty of protein as I don't leave home without my trusty tub.
I am not eating any junk food for the past 6 weeks or so (which is hard because we get pop tarts by the case load ! ) We also get raw trail mix ( i throw out the raisins because they are high in sugar and eat the plain peanuts and sun flower seeds.)
Pretty much the cardio and high reps working out is what is dropping the weight.
If I can keep up this discipline, in this shit hole, then I am sure I can go to the next level with my training !

Thanks for all the comments !

Oh, didn't realize you were in Afghanistan. Well then I guess I understand the difficulty in following a strict diet. Keep it up, and when you get back you'll be ready to jump on a stricter program. Nice work so far.
