I normally have my protein shake before or during my work out instead of after.

The reason is that if I feel too hungry I just can't work out and I need to eat, another reason is to have a constant flow of aminoacids in my bloodstream as soon as possible.

An dno I don't mid one or two burps that I release during my work out.

I am 190 lbs 8%bf and the shake is made of whey and casein about 30 g each.

Comments please.

have carbs post work out, and then protein afterwards again.

so in your case have a pre shake, and then a shake or food an hour after, and a carb drink immediately pwo

why not 20g before workout and 40g after?

1:00 pre-workout 10g whey + 10g casein
1:30 workout
2:30 100g carbs + 30g whey +10g casein
3:15 solid meal with carbs & protein
5:50 solid meal with fast, protein & carbs

I am kinda of lazy and like real meals, plus one shoot of whey with water in my stomach feels like nothing.

I have real food as soon as possible after my work out

This was just an example of what you can do. If you rather have protein shake and solid food straight after workout its also good

I used to do the dextrose thing and it felt as I was having cheap candy right after my work out = kinda of stupid.

why would you feel hungry during your workout? You shouldn't work out on an empty stomach...so have a meal shortly before your workout. I usually eat, chill around at home for an hour, then get to the gym. My PWO shake usually hits me 2-2.5hrs after that pre-workout meal.

If you want to keep your amino supply up during your training, why not try some powedered bcaa`s?

I have read countless studies on pre workout protein supplementation. All of them point to having a protein shake before a workout posing zero benefit to performance or recovery. Your best bet is to have some carbs before or during your workout to give you energy. Fruit is a great source of glucose / fructose which can be easily metabolized for energy.

I eat apples like they are going out of style
