Indoor Cooking for Newbs

Introduction
I am writing this article to help people on how to make better food if you are cooking indoors. As not everyone has a bbq and also since we are in Canada others with a bbq might not want to go outside in the winter (or even in the rain for that matter).
Cast Iron Skillet
Go purchase a real cast iron skillet. It should cost you around $50. However, it will last you for your entire lifetime if you care for it properly.

Caring for your Cast Iron Skillet
Now, some cast iron skillets come already seasoned and ready to use. If yours says it is seasoned then you are good to go. If it does not say anything assume it is not seasoned so you must to an additional step to season it.
Please follow this guide on how to season your cast iron skillet (http://www.howtodothings.com/food-and-drink/a3371-how-to-season-a-cast-iron-skillet.html) or if your skillet comes with instructions follow them.
Now, that your cast iron skillets are ready to use I will talk about how to clean and store them. After each use of your skillet you must wash it with water and a sponge or some sort of scrub brush. DO NOT USE ANY TYPE OF SOAP ON YOUR SKILLET EVER. Even if you have some shit stuck to it just your some steel wool or something. Directly after you clean your skillet you must completely dry it or else it will rust. I use a dry cloth or paper towels. After it is dried you must coat the inside surface of the skillet with some sort of oil. Sometimes I use spray veg oil other times I pour some extra virgin olive oil into it and rub it around with my fingers. Now your skillet is ready for its next use. Store your skillet in a dark dry place. I use my oven for this and if I need the oven for something I just take the skillet out while the oven is in use.
Using your skillet
You can use your skillet to cook anything in it bacon, eggs, chicken, fish, steak, vegitables, etc. I am just doing to give an example on how to cook steak/chicken in your skillet, everything else should be the same as you would in a normal shitty pan.
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Get skillet HOT. If you hold your hand 2 inches from the surface of the skillet you should not be able to hold it there for 3 seconds. Skillets take awhile to heat up.
3. Sear meat on first side. Until it is browned this is what gives you delicious flavor on your meat.
4. Flip meat to other side and stick in the oven for about 15-20 minutes. This all depends on how thick your chicken or steak is.
5. Dont forget to wash your skillet.
Conclusion
Cooking indoors does not have to be shitty. With some extra time you can have good food that is comparable to using a bbq all year round.
