You know how some people have a really thick core, i want that. I have more of a natural V shape to me, pretty thin in my core/waist area, i would like that really thick core look, anything i can do to help with this? just train more core? i do a lot of core and all the basic lifts, squats, deads, does this question even make sense?

Thick core is a group of muscles. You want a thicker waist try weighted ab work and weighted side bends. Not sure why anyone would want a thicker waist though, V taper is what you want.

Brock carries a 180 lb log on one shoulder. You can drag a fistful of rebar...large pail of water and do some weaving....

I think some of those strongmen get a short bar with two handles, they swing it from side to side.

larger core.....heavy heavy heavy deadlifts and squats....put your belt tight but so there is room to push your abs out against.....before starting the lift take a HUGE breath and fill your stomach with air and push out against the belt really hard.....then squat! also hit abs hard and heavy.....mainly decline crunches with weight added and hanging leg raises with added weight......4 times a week.....

So true, i used to have a tiny waist before i went thru my powerbuilding phase.. heavy deads and squats made my waist thicker... i dont like it:p!

I remember when I was young I was doing weighted side bends (for some stupid reason) and the wrestler "Flyin Brian Pillman" came over and gave me shit and said dont ruin your natural V taper bud.......so I never ever did any side bends whats so ever again and still have that tiny lil waist, which in turn of course makes my naturally wide shoulders look twice as wide :D

He was one of the best dudes I ever met and had the opportunity to have as a mentor, he was great friends with my parents friends......they had a big ol ring set up at the acrage to practice/showoff. Brian is the one guy who told me I had awesome genetics for this and he actually made me out a full workout program that I wish I wouldnt have lost! He was a pimp fosho lol!

...Flyin Brian Pillman RIP bro!
