Experts claim serious side effects of flu shots amount to about one in a million - well this is what that one in a million looks like. This has freaked me out enough to bypass flu shots in the future. But what do I know - to each their own. A 25 year old woman in Ashburn, Virginia has come down with a severe debilitating neurological disorder days after receiving a seasonal flu vaccination.

A lesson on correlation versus causation - By nisser:

No one knows what causes dystonia nor is there a cure for it. Now this lady happened to get the illness 10 days after a flu shot. A person uneducated in the scientific method (this is you by the way so I don't lose you) would scream and blame the vaccine. After all, she was totally fine but 10 days after the shot she got sick (nevermind that most dystonias come about in a completely unknown random manner with some exceptions; ie. 2ndary dystonia).

Let's recount all the other things this lady did in the 10 days from the flu shot:

1) She likely ate bread
2) She took a dump over her toilet
3) I'm pretty sure she posted on facebook
4) She used her cell-phone!!!

Plus a ton of other shit.

But you know what; let's blame the vaccine because she couldn't possibly get it from posting on facebook. That would seem ridicilious...

Well, it's really not. They're on the same level of stupid actually.

That's the crucial point that so few people understand and it is why you have doctors recommending not getting the vaccine. The vast majority of doctors trained in Canada have absolutely no research experience and really have no ****ing clue how to critically analyze data and are pretty much on the same level as the average pipe-fitter walking down the street; yet we all give them the benefit of the doubt.

Pharma companies absolutely love this as it's very easy to pump a new drug to doctors even though there's giant holes in the effectiveness of their clinical trials as compared to competitors/generic drug makers....but I digress.

In short, if two things correlate together (ie. getting a disease because they recently got a flu shot), it does not mean that there's causation between the two.

doesnt mean you ignorantly go get a flu shot discounting this either.

To be honest, and Im sure this is stupid. I dont want to get the flu shot, because I dont want some nurse unloading a ml of test into my shoulder in under a second. Im not cattle and I dont like being treated like cattle.

If I could go get the vaccine and inject it myself, with my test. Id do it that way. But im not lining up like a scared animal to have some fat Gretta jabbed me like a heffer. I cant remember the last time a had a flu, I dont care if I get it. Suffering through something like a flu always brings about a new appreciation for health!

.... but if I die... avenge my death.

Using this method you must be opposed to the global warming argument of Gore. All he uses are correlation graphs.

I do agree with what you are saying but an educated person would say "What has changed or what is different that might have caused this?" If the individual was living and doing the same things they always had and the only identifiable difference was the shot, I believe it would be a good place to start to establish cause.
