how much body weight do you go up in the offseason compared to pre contest???

im natural and everypound of muscle counts so im trying to find a decent weight to go up to that will optimize my muscle gains.

Theres no one clearcut answer here. Its different for everyone. It also depends on how much muscle mass you have. Id say not go over 15% bodyfat would be important. 12% would be good. Adjust your diet accordingly so you are gaining muscle and not too much fat. But as per one clear weight ammount, thats impossible to say. Just eat right and train hard and the muscle will come.

next time I do a prep (if I ever do one again) I will try to be no more than 15-25lbs out of contest shape. I ****ed myself this year and then tried to push myself even harder than my body would allow until it finally gave out.

Won't make that mistake again.

Youll never know until you actually diet and step on stage at a degree of leaness that is competitive...then you can add 25-30 lbs to that for offseason...depending on height.

some of the pro's look like they are at least 50lbs overweight in the off season though.
