I live in a house with 4 roomates who all use the internet quite a bit, mostly for streaming stuff. My Xbox 360 is connected via wireless adaptor. When I want to game online, I usually experience mad lag since bandwidth is already being sucked like crazy by 3 other people.

Question; If I were to purchase an entirely new wireless modem, would there be a way to dedicate it solely to my Xbox with nothing else interfering?

Thanks in advance.

Yes and No.

lag issue:
If you are just competing for wireless bandwidth, which is much less than the hardwired bandwidth then yes.

If the hardwired bandwidth is being maxed out then you'll need a second internet connection to end the lag then no.

wireless modem:
and yes you can limit a wireless modem to specific devices by id or password.

xbox's wireless system sucks balls man, lags basically if no one is on the network, hardwire that in.... make sure no one is running a limewire or something like that and your good to go, let the steal the neighbors bandwidth
