I never got how a country could get in debt that much like 11 trillion dollars... Where does it even come from?

I remember reading that the Iraq war costs tax payers 144 BILLION a year.

Now add up all the other war fronts the US is in.

And cant forget about the billions that have gone into bailouts.

Plus all kinds of other irresponsible gov't spending.

Well, China owns 23% of the foreign holdings, while Japan owns 21%. Heh, heh.

Not really.. Don't mean to argue. But there are rich, very rich people out there who lend money to governments.

When you print money, you don't have a debt. The value of money just goes down. The whole country has a smaller buying power (long term of course)

Say you print double the money mass of today. In a short term effect, everyone will be able to have more stuff, and buy more. Long term, every price will be 100% higher, salaries will be double, and your dollar will be worth 50% of what it was.

True, but thats not how you accumulate debt... you accumulate debt by importing goods and exporting nothing... and by nothing, i mean currency equal to nothing. If foreign debtors tryed to cash in, the entire world economy would fall to pieces. The USA will never be able to repay their debts.

Money doesnt really mean anything, its all about the exchange of goods. Right now, we do pretty much shit all to earn our keep. The only reason we have so much is because of all the people across the pacific working their asses off.

Printing money doesn't create debt - Selling bonds (which other countries purchase), or buying goods on credit creates debt.

Now the US is expected to repay its debt obligations using US Cash..you can understand why China and other countries get nervous when they see the US printing so much cash, thereby inflating its currency..
