It would be surprising if anyone here found this to be a surprise, but apparently they took the justice out of the legal system a long time ago.
What happened to 9gram justice?

Smeltzer abducted the child as she was walking to kindergarten on an Altadore street. He said he intended to sexually assault her, but she recognized him from the neighbourhood. He later drowned her, and stuffed her body into a garbage can.
He was arrested five months after the murder when an 11-year-old rape victim spotted him on the street.
That is retarded. I wish we had capitol punishment.
Harold David Smeltzer is allowed to leave his halfway house unescorted
Good.. Now somebody can get at him and avenge that little girl. I certainly hope they do.

As some of you know my friend was sexually assaulted by a dirt bag and the police actually caught him *wow*, AFTER he had attacked another girl.
How did they find him? Prior sexual assault conviction a few years back so they had his DNA on file.
Want to know what makes the story even better? He has ads posted on university classifieds saying he is a handy man who can help girls move. Did I forget he also lives near an elementary/ ecole secondaire with lots of kids walking by his place every day.

The government is run by a bunch of cowards that won't actually change anything worthwhile cause it takes to much work. Instead they will continue to go after stupid shit like people smoking in big rigs and the pitbull ban. But hey it makes it look like their working and people fall for it.
Cops are only there for the paycheck and do not give a shit about you or me, so they will continue to sit on their asses and do **** all.
And people will never take the law into their own hands because MOST people have to much to lose nowadays and the canadian government will prosecute them harder than the criminals that put them in the situation.

Honestly, if you touch a child violently or sexually you should get life period its completly bizzare that these crimes arent punished more harshly.

Im shocked but hardly suprised that Canada justice has ass ****ed the public once again. Its so sad to see shit like that. If someone killed and attempted to rape my 11 year old daughter i would be blind with rage. That is one of the only instances were it would be worth going to jail for. Why not lock up this ****ing loser what benifit could this waste of human life do for society. IF he rapes again then the board of morons who let him out should be held responsible.

I would kill the dude and make sure they NEVER found the body... ie... turn him into dust and mix him with your protein shakes and shit him out... i would refuse to let someone like that live in the neighbourhood where im raising my kids, the guy would simply have to die... only stupid, sloppy people get caught.

My friend is a one of the strongest girls, both physically and mentally, that I know. She hit him hard enough to escape without any real physical harm done.
Now that this guy is locked up she is sleeping way better but how long is he going to get?
I take comfort in knowing guys like Chopper Reid are in prison.

A life sentence at a half way home? WTF?? ****ing bullshit this douche belongs in a MAXIMUM prison with the rest of the PC skin hounds so he can get what he deserves by some big Indian.
If I were the father I wouldnt hesitate to kill this guy. Somethings are worth going to prison for and this would be it.

This is an example where our society could use a bit of the barbaric nature that we criticize other countries for. Do you think these guys would think twice if the ones that are caught are brought to city hall and tied up where the victims and the public could stone them to death?
