when on cycle for bulking how many gram/protein are most people striving for? I've read everything form 1g/lb of total weight, 1g/lb of lean weight up to 3g/lb and every combinations. I'm finding it tought to force feed myself any more than the 200g I'm eating now, but during mid cycle I seem to only be able to maintain weight now so obiously not 200 isn't enough.

other thoughts?

ps. 248lbs @ 12.5% bf by calipers.

throw in two or three iso whey shakes, that will bump you up to 300-350grams easy

instead of having a glass of water with your meal, have a shake :)

I eat between 1.5g and 2g per lb of body weight myself.

Simple math....
If you subscribe to the 40\40\20 diet @ 1g\lb you will have
248 x 4 =992 calories protien
248 x 4 =992 calories carbs
124 x 9 =1119 calories fat
Total = 3100 calories

@248 lbs I would think that would be more of a maintenance diet. You need more food to grow. Post a typical day's diet for feedback.

breakfast-2 packs oatmeal mixed with 2 scoops protein approx 54g Pro

workout-Pwo shake 2 scoops wieght gainer and 1 scoop whey for 60grams pro

lunch- tuna or leftovers usually another 40-50g's

mid day- snack usually not healty pepperoni, chips, pop

lunch- typically a big homestyle meal of chicken of beef 50+g protien

watch some sports with more junk food

more often than not I skip the night time 60g shake as I'm just too tired "lazy"

I hope you can already see the issue. Eliminate the junk food and do not skip meals. There are 3 meals where you are getting little or no protein. Incorporate these 3 and you will add another 200g protein. If you add some good oil to your meals you will up your overall calories.

X2

looky here.....still might need more calories for you to grow though....

Meal 1: Pro/Carb

8 Egg Whites, 1 Scoop Of Whey Protein, 1 cup oatmeal

50g protein / 54g carbs / 5g fat

Meal 2: Pro/Fat

Lean Ground Beef, ¼ cup swiss cheese, green veggies

55g protein / 2g carbs / 20g fat

Meal 3: Pro/Carb

Chicken Breast, 1 and a half cup Brown Rice

55g protein / 64g carbs / 3g Fat
**Disclaimer: Meal 3 can be a pro/fat meal if you are ultra sensitive to carb intake.

Meal 4: Pro/Fat

2 Cans of Tuna, 1 Tbsp Full Fat Mayonnaise, Veggies

60g protein / 2g carbs / 13g Fat

Workout

Meal 5: PWO Nutrition

2 Scoops Whey Protein / 80g of Dextrose

40g protein / 80g carbs / 0g fat

Meal 6: PPWO

Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast, ½ cup Brown Rice (Measured Uncooked)

50g protein / 70g carbs / 3g fat

Meal 7: Pro/Fat

Lean Protein of your choice, 2 Tbsp Natural Peanut Butter
50g protein / 5g carbs / 18g fat

Meal 8: Before Bed

3 Scoops of Whey Protein, 1.5 Tbsp. Flax Seed Oil

60g protein / 3g carbs / 21g Fat

That turns into approximately 420 grams protein, 250 grams Carbs, and 83 grams of fat. This is roughly 3500 calories

it would be better to have the extra protein inbetween meals
