Buy ford or GMC. That import shit will rape you when it comes to maintenance costs.

i have owned 4 BMW's and 2 Mercedes and repairs have been minimal and in some cases less money then similar repairs on my a friends pontiac!

Buy the import shit, there is no maintenance on them. :D
My wife has the Toyota Highlander hybrid, fully loaded. Its a dream to drive and has unbievable fuel milage! However with dogs that big i'm not sure that this is the car for you. I'm thinking a f-350 crewcab for you, lol.

The only one that you will get your money out of at $15,000 is the ford or gmc. The others are way to expensive to get a decent used one for 15,000 IMO. Ford is in alot better shape than GMC too. Would look at a used Ford Escape, one of the few more affordable suv's. They are a little smaller than the Explorer, but I think a better suv. Had an explorer and didn't like it. Good luck.

The Lexus is a very nice SUV and very reliable as well, the prices are pretty decent for an slightly older model.....maybe hard to find though..

The BMW X's are pretty sick.. if they're even on your radar dont look at anything domestic, its all shit in comparison.

Your better off getting the clutch fixed, and save up for something you really want rather than getting sumthing you have to settle for.
Unless of course the clutch repair is going to cost you more than the value of the current vechile.

It will even out in the end. You'll be frequently going to the shop to get repairs and maintenance done with a domestic. With imports you'll probably be in the shop less than once a year. I would choose the latter option just because I would save alot more time with the import (not having to spend all that time waiting at the service shop) and it will retain its value. But if your doing work/repairs yourself and your going to drive the truck into the ground its better to go with domestic because they are easier to work on and the parts are cheaper.

Did it have the same amount of power? How much more quiet was it than a non hybrid. I didnt know escalades were down around 15gs what year was it?

all the expedition hybrid does is shut down cylinders on the hwy i think...was better on gas than my BMW ..it was fully loaded and in 4wd the entire way.
the escalade was actually 16k...2002.....
turns out a friend is selling his so i am might be buying it.....or i should say stealing it.

Americans have started to make good cars now but still no match for imports YET. Escalade is too much baller status imo. Lexus rx330 would do plus can't beat toyota's reliability.

I wouldn't be thinking about blowing a wad of cash on a SUV with 2 big dogs that go everywhere with you plus the little ones..the insides going to look like shit in no time..I bought a minivan for my dogs at one point ..2 pitts and a rotti x lab.. they ****ing destroyed the inside...I didn't care...it was just a ford...

You dont got to be rolling on 24s, I got pulled over in my buddy's while it was stock and the cop goes to me, "What are u doing driving a vechile like this? Only people that drive vechiles like this are gang members!"

Check out the 2010 Ford Flex EcoBoost, its a 355 hores power compact SUV with a ****ing shit load of cargo room. Hauls ass too! Had a good review in Car&Driver.
Really? My friend who has an 04 Benz SLK 320 has to pay $650 for a ****ing trunk key. he got ripped off those keys are $250 trust me I work for Mercedes.
However I do agree the maintenance costs on many of the imports are very high. Also whoever suggested the Lexus RX comon man that is a womens vehicle they sell 80% of them to women. Also the reliability of Lexus and Toyota is highly over rated.

Shit, well he shouldn't have gotten ripped off, he own's his own mechanic shop so I'd imagine he should have gotten dealer price or shop price. I'll tell him he's getting pooched for it. Fvking nice car either way lol.
Believe it or not the smart car keys are actually drastically more than the Mercedes ones. Maybe he got more than one replacement.
