Leave it to a shitty government run health care system to shit on a soldier like that.
What makes me mad is the whole incompetence and lack of customer service.
If a private company was that bad at handling patient care they would go broke.

They think it's perfectly acceptable to use organs from smokers?? Even lungs?? Where is the logic in that? What a bunch of ****ing morons. I thought UK's health system was supposed to be good... after reading that, I can see it's run by a handful of retards.

Logic? When you're on the death bed and are in the 3945th person in line to get a lung from a donor, you'll take anything you can get.

Well this guy wasn't on his death bed. They gave him two years.. maybe he could have lived a bit longer than that.
Those smoker's cancerous lungs gave him 6 months. There's no logic to that.
I don't see the logic in giving someone tainted organs when they're on their death bed. If I could think up a witty analogy I would, but I'll just leave it at that.

Like nisser said, there are tons of people waiting, if they didnt use smokers lungs in transplants there would probably be alot more people dead.
Although I think they should check to make sure the lungs are cancer free or disease free before the transplant, that way they can still use smokers lungs I would think

Do they do the same thing in Canada?

The issue is that the system is so disorganized that steps that should have been taken such as communication amongst specialists occurred inexplicably late.
If I ran a vet business like that I would be broke.
