So it's been 3 days short of 3 weeks on keto.

Went out for Italian tonight. Ordered lobster ravioli, pizza and salad. Also had 1/2 pint of Sam Adam's and for dessert creme brulee.

I feel like I took a frickin valium after this meal... I was pouring sweat, I'm ridiculously tired, nose was running, just overall feel like crap.

So I probably could have done without the beer, and the dessert.... anything else I should avoid for my next refeed/cheat meal?

The first few refeeds are a bit intense. You'll likely learn that a nice pasta dinner is enough after the 3rd or 4rth binge. A steak dinner with a baked potatoe with the works is pretty darn good too. I would plan my "cheat" meal all week when I was on the palumbo template.

LOl @ gymbrat!
I used to have a hard time with my cheats... took them really conservative... Not anymore!!
you get over that fear of cheating too much pretty fast! haha

My trainer had to give me a cheat day diet... it was something like this
meal one... breakfast with at least 3 eggs, 1 protein and 3 carbs
snack chocolate bar
meal two burger and freis and a milkshake (didnt eat meat, had a chicken burger)
snack fruit
meal three protein shake or bar
meal four pasta or pizza and a salad
snack peanutbutter sandwich and fruit

I could go for that day right about now!

Maybe women's stomachs are smaller but my first 3-4 cheat meals on the palumbo template were all close to 5000 calories. I gorged. I generally hurt for a day and a half. Once I got my cheat meal down to a more respectable couple of thousand with an emphasis on carbs it was a lot more comfortable.

After about a month I was able to convince myself I wasn't starving anymore and that it wasn't necessary to eat steak and potatoe, and a pasta dinner with cream sauce, and the antipastos and a pizza and an extra large desert and a bottle of wine and ... and... and... at one sitting.

I highly recommend Beaujena's 5 course mystery meal with the full flight of wines.

I thought I would've stuffed my face silly... but I actually ate quite conservatively. I got full pretty quick after the bread and pasta. I was pretty disappointed I couldn't eat the whole pizza.

I'm still not sure how many carbs I'm supposed to be getting in this one meal.

I've read Palumbo's answer to the how many carbs things and his basic answer is "eat a reasonable meal of whatever you like." I think the "reasonable" word is probably your best clue.

I feel like I'm going through the whole process all over again (ketosis).... I'm nauseous, have a headache and my head feels outta whack. Am I going to adjust to this cheat meal thing or am I gonna have to go through this every time I eat a cheat meal? I don't think I can handle feeling like this every week...

You'll be bloated after each cheat meal. It wasn't unusual for me to soak up 6-8 pounds of water but you'll piss it out within 24 hours and be fine. I did not have the other symptoms that you describe but if there's any dbol in there I wouldn't be shocked if the extra water gives you a dose of bad blood pressure.

Not on any orals atm.... I really feel like shit. It could just be a co-incidence and nothing to do with the carb loading.

i try to avoid fibrous carbs at the beginning of the carb up because it really stop my digestion from working..
Fat free ice cream, Marple butter, gummy bear jelly bean and other candy,2 boxe of captain crunch with 0 fat milk, pasta napolitaine sauce, a bunch of toast 2-3 gatorade fat free pudding low fat brownie. Kinda scary to see us on friday nights...

thats a lot of sugar dude.. :)

i cant eat that much sugar, it makes me sick.

well anyway i took a couple ibuprofen and drank up my pre-workout drink and had a decent workout, so w/e. guess i'll know for sure next weekend when i do the same thing... if i feel like crap again day 2 from the cheat meal, i'll know the meal is throwing me out of ketosis and i'll need to figure something else out.

The meal is supposed to throw you out of ketosis :)
The feeling like crap thing is the problem.
