I must admit...I am a high squatter....I squat outside a rack cuz my feet go so wide that i cannot fit in a rack any longer. Sooo I have decided to incorporate the low box squat to help both squat and deadlift. Last night was my 1st experience with the low box squat ( regular box squat all the time). I didnt break any gym records and it was mostly just to get familiar with hitting that low. I gotta say that it was intense even with the light weight. I used a 12 inch box. At 6'4" that put me pretty much ass to ground and my legs are long so i looked like a ****ing spider when i sat back and down......A great exercise that I will throw in from time to time!

AWESOME!!! Do you use an adjustable box or do you just have a bunch of different boxes?

I love box squatting . I was doing it every training up to my last meet , then when I was squatting in the meet it felt like forever before I got the call to come up . I would say this is because I wasn't going low enough in training and that is my only down fall with the box . Now I've been doing very low squats , my numbers have taken a dive , but they are coming back up and my hams are getting stronger.

I'm thinking I will add in the LOW box , since I personally feel the box helps me with my form . When I'm not using it I lean forward to much.

Dang , that's a scary feeling ! Not so bad when you know you can do it , but still shocking and gives a guy a reality check.... That reminds me of the first time I used bands . **** what a feeling , LOL !
