How to gain weight by Dave Tate:

• Here's a quick story.
There was a time at the Old Westside gym where I couldn't gain weight to save my ****ing life.
There was this dude who trained there who could just put on weight like ****ing magic. He'd go from 198 to 308 and then to 275 and back down to 198. And he was never fat. It was amazing.
I finally asked him one day how he did it.
"You mean I never told you the secret to gaining weight? Come outside and I'll fill you in."
Now remember, we're at Westside Barbell. And this guy wants to go outside to talk so no one else can hear. Think about that for a minute. What the hell is he going to tell me? This must be some serious shit if we have to go outside, I thought.
So we get outside and he starts talking.
"For breakfast you need to eat four of those breakfast sandwiches from McDonalds. I don't care which ones you get, but make sure to get four. Order four hash browns, too. Now grab two packs of mayonnaise and put them on the hash browns and then slip them into the sandwiches. Squish that shit down and eat. That's your breakfast."
At this point I'm thinking this guy is nuts. But he's completely serious.
"For lunch you're gonna eat Chinese food. Now I don't want you eating that crappy stuff. You wanna get the stuff with MSG. None of that non-MSG bullshit. I don't care what you eat but you have to sit down and eat for at least 45 minutes straight. You can't let go of the fork. Eat until your eyes swell up and become slits and you start to look like the woman behind the counter."
"For dinner you're gonna order an extra-large pizza with everything on it. Literally everything. If you don't like sardines, don't put 'em on, but anything else that you like you have to load it on there. After you pay the delivery guy, I want you to take the pie to your coffee table, open that ****er up, and grab a bottle of oil. It can be olive oil, canola oil, whatever. Anything but motor oil. And I want you to pour that shit over the pie until half of the bottle is gone. Just soak the shit out of it."
"Now before you lay into it, I want you to sit on your couch and just stare at that ****er. I want you to understand that that pizza right there is keeping you from your goals."
This guy is in a zen-like state when he's talking about this.
"Now you're on the clock," he continues. "After 20 minutes your brain is going to tell you you're full. Don't listen to that shit. You have to try and eat as much of the pizza as you can before that 20-minute mark. Double up pieces if you have to. I'm telling you now, you're going to get three or four pieces in and you're gonna want to quit. You ****ing can't quit. You have to sit on that couch until every piece is done.
And if you can't finish it, don't you ever come back to me and tell me you can't gain weight. 'Cause I'm gonna tell you that you don't give a **** about getting bigger and you don't care how much you lift!"
Did I do it? Hell yeah. Started the next day and did it for two months. Went from 260 pounds to 297 pounds. And I didn't get much fatter. One of the hardest things I've ever done in my life, though.

I have eaten like that, and put one some pretty good weight, and still kept my top abs as well. I was on cycle though, and it made my face bloat like the marshmallow man lol

That's my usual eating habits..........imagine? some guys call that work.....I call it heaven!

SD posted that same quote a few days ago and since he did I have been trying it. Im eating double the portions I was before of pasta and beef, and I am gonna eat a few large pizzas every week to myself, on top of adding WAY more 2% milk, fruit, peanuts, and prolly gainer shakes to my diet.

Seems to be working so far, Im looking fuller and more vascular but not bloated yet. Its weird, its almost like my stomach has gotten (very slightly) smaller.....

I seriously wish I could do that, but I've gotten to know my body. I know that once I start pushing 4000 cals a day, I'm gonna get pudgy.

And I could totally ****ing pull off that story. My mouth waters when I think of the PRETTY LADY pizza from chicago deep dish. Could ****ing eat that entire ****er in 15 min flat.

ok, but you forgot to eat mc donalds... try doing that for a while and see how your bf% turns out..

here's an example:

4x sausage n egg mcmuffins: 1800 calories (108 grams fat, 3680mg sodium)
4x hashbrowns: 600 calories (36 grams fat, 1240mg sodium)
2x packets mayo: unlisted, but I'm sure it's awesome

So for breakfast you'd be consuming 2400 calories, 144 grams of fat and 4920mg of sodium.

I dedicated my second dinner @ A&W to this post tonight.
It was only a grandpa burger and a large milk but you have to start somewhere.

I haven't been eating nearly enough lately. Adjusting to the extra calories that your body needs as it grows takes a little determination in the eating arena.

I read that when SD posted it as well. I keep thinking about it. It honestly grosses me out to think about eating that much crap for months on end. I would say up until recenlty, I considered myself dedicated and serious about the gym. when I read something like this it makes my effort seem pale in comparision. I still worry about the health reprocussions to eating like that.

Used to bulk like that all the time. Kept abs a bit, but face was swollen like I was 400lbs.

Wow, eat like that for a month and get blood work tell me how good it is. No thanks, some people looks for excuses to eat crap thinking they are doing something good for themselves, I see nothing good in eating like that at all every day.

Last cycle I ate a lot of good food and I still gained fat... if I ate junk like that I'd be a fat ****, no ifs ands or buts about it... I can't even imagine how high my BP would be as well. I'd probably be out of breath changing the channel.

If you do a little research on Dave Tate you will find that he did end up bringing his bodyfat down for these very reasons.

However, it is still the fastest route to getting big and strong. It's just not the prettiest.

This post is a bit of troll bait and I would bet Praetorian wouldn't recommend this approach to even the most foolhardy bodybuilder but if you are willing to break a few eggs this is a proven approach. I'd also bet that there are a few here who have had excellent results with sumo eating.

No doubt.. some people can handle eating like that, and end up getting pretty damn big. Unfortunately, I ain't one of em.. :(

and ya, I kinda figured P's post wasn't entirely serious.
