Anyone here ever got an abscess and got it fixed at the hospital?
What was the procedure like? Did they keep you for long? Noticeable scar?

I think I might have an abscess on my left pec and I'm a little freaked!

On wednesday night I injected 1ml of TTE400 in my left pec. I had a 1" needle which is usually more than deep enough. Problem is after I withdrew the needle i noticed I had injected at an angle and it likely went SubQ.

I figured, oh well, no biggie, it'll just take longer to disperse. Next morning noticed a lump on my pec. Went to workout anyway (was back workout day anyway). By saturday the lump got quite red, hot and kinda hardish to the touch but would depress with enough pressure and remain that way for a little bit before coming back to its usual swelled self. Let it go for now...

Monday night went to the walk-in clinic and told the doctor I had accidently jabbed myself with a small nail. He looked at it and went seemed a little uncertain on whether prescribing me antibiotics or sending me to the ER. He prescribed me some clarithromycin (Biaxin) as I am allergic to penicillin and told me to come back on Wednesday night for a follow-up.

As of right now, the lump is still swollen (though ice seems to help it), about 2" by 1.5" and noticeably red.

My buddy had an abscess removed before. Don't freak out, it ain't that bad. The Doc will cut it open, drain it and then, fill it up with antiseptics tissue. Couple days later,u remove the tissues and let it heal up. My bud was training the day after surgery :D (Abscess was in shoulder). The scar is really small.

What causes an abcess? Is it infection from the actual injection or.....?

One thing bugs me guys...
It's often said that "if you have an abscess, you WILL know". In the sense that it's very painful and you get flu like symptoms, etc...

It's not painful at all, granted it's a little sensitive if I press really hard on it, but the pain seems to come more from compressing the tissues below it than anything else. And I don't have any flu-like symptoms except a slight increase in a tempeature, but that's quite normal with tren anyway???

An abscess will get red and warm to the touch, quite independent of the rest of your body temp.

what if you applied hot towels to it or put a hot waterbottle-heating pad to it for 15 -20 min..... see if that helps to disburst the oil.....maybe it is the oil trapped inbetween the sub q and muscle?

Ive never done pec shots but just the thought of doing one makes me cringe

If it were me, I'd take one shot at draining it with a sterile syringe, taking all antiseptic precautions, and see what comes out. Might hurt, but I doubt it will cause any harm.

it can cause tonnes of harm tbh
if it doesnt hurt , its not an infection,
pecs are horrible to inject into, tonnes of nerves.
esp a high conc product and or prop

I would put heat on it , like a heating pad (I have these pads that you put in the microwave for like 2 minutes they get pretty hot and stay hot for like 20 min ), its happen to me before all i would do is put it heat on it for like 15 min at a time and take some advil it takes a few days but it goes away, hope this helps.

i have had 2 friends encounter this. one in the delt, the other in the glute. both were deep and nasty. neither of them were training anytime soon after. gauze filling and drain tube were used. the one guy has an indent scar on his delt where the abcess was.
the shoulder infection came about using test suspension and the glute was due to injecting too much too often in to the same spot.

not fun either way bro, hopefully it resolves itself.
