So over the last say 5 years, i've probably spent $100 buying music off iTunes... i go through waves of guilt that will lead me to downloading music from torrents to deciding I might as well pay for it, support the artist etc... plug its convenient and reliable.

HOWEVER, after recently purchasing a couple CD's off itunes, i went to update the software on my Iphone and get some messed up error telling me I have to do a system restore on my Iphone. WEIRD, MAC BASED SHIT IS SUPPOSED!!! TO BE PERFECT!

I wont even mention the 100+ songs I've lost from changing computers and formatting hard drives etc.

Needless to say, i lost about 30 songs and the Apple policy states that user is responsible for backing up their downloads... which is EXACTLY WHAT I WAS TRYING TO DO!!!!!

Anyways... **** em.. i just downloaded about 10 cds worth of torrents and ill never buy music from itunes again until they change their 1 download only policy. They need to let people download the same song like 10 times on the same account.

You can authorize your new computer by going to Store -> Authorize in the menu.

Once you do that you can re-download and transfer your purchases.

Once you authorize a new computer, you can transfer the files off a device, you cant re-download. Once you lose your copy of a song, its gone til you pay for another. You can have it stored on 5 different computers but that doesnt help the guy who has a problem making an initial copy.

Huh, I've done it before with app purchases.. I had to de-authorize all computers first, then authorize the new one... I guess it works differently from music downloads? If so that's pretty effin stupid... god bless bittorrent.
