Post em up for your area.

I'm not affiliated with the people putting on this competition, just trying to get the word out plus all proceeds go to help Special Olympics Ontario.

when i was over on the mainland this weekend i noticed some posters up for the bc fall classic in the sfu gym and i was interested in doing it untill i saw the part about the drug testing. are they and feds in canada that put on alot of compitions that do not drug test?

tex

they drug test randomly but usually only if you win, hit a record or look like your on the sauce......cpo doesnt drug test as they are affilated with the wpo......

GPC doesn't drug test either. The usually hold 2 meets in Calgary each year. Very good group of people. Independant Powerlifting has a site that you can check out.

I have lifted with some of the guys in the GPC, they are all awesome dudes and very into growing the sport.

the CPO is more east coastish, most of the meets are either in the toronto area like the one in december, or in montreal, which there is one in january but im not sure the date which is bad becasue i train at the gym that is hosting it haha.

if anyone is in the montreal area shoot me a PM and i can set you up for some training at our gym in dorion ( suburb of monteal)

I'm going to be at the meet in Brantford Dec 5th.

I can't remember when the meet in January is either... but it's in Dorion, about 1.5hrs from Ottawa and these meets are always a good time, loud music, good judging, fun ppl... I strongly encourage anyone who's been considering a meet to come out... these are great for first timers.

unless you put up ungodly numbers, or someone involved knows you and doesnt like you, they will not test you.... and they usually only test at Nationals

i trained with one of the bcpa official-type guys and he told me they test ppl that hit records or close to records and guys that look it on occasion....esp if you are new and come in a put up big numbers.....id be careful cuz once you pop positive just once you are black-listed for the tested meets....but it is expensive so like mr. orr said they usually only test at national level

I wonder if that goes for all shows ?

I thought that they charged the athlete extra to do tests shows because of that reason.

Well...

A. I do look like I'm "cranked to the 9's"

and

B. My DL is gonna be BIG

So I should just forget about it... Tested shows suck.

you'll be pulling around or over 700......and you look jacked.....they'll test you.....i know a guy that competes with them and he's a 308 and doesnt pull over 600......

If your using I don't think you should even consider doing a tested meet. Same goes for bodybuilding shows. I don't think it's fair to the ones that arnt using .

Exactly...

One of my training partners did this comp last year and for some reason wants me to do it this year. I have a HUGE SM comp comming up on March 5th/7th anyways so I'll save myself for that. I'm just kinda disapointed there is no un-tested fed in BC. Mehh.

And its not about placings or records... I just want an opportunity to lifts big weights.

I understand.

Are you close to the AB boarder at all ? GPC is untested and they hold a few events in Calgary each year. I'm not sure if they're in B.C or not.

If that meet is tested then I don't think anyone running gear at the time should compete. If it has been awhile and you won't go positive I wouldn't condone it, but the fact that anyone could have run a cycle a few months before to add size probably means it is ok.
