Finasteride 1.25mg caps ??

how much does a person take ??

i know this is to prevent hairloss....but my friend says it is making his hair thicker.....i just dont know what to recommend for dose.

most prescribed Proscar is 5mg..so is that a standard daily dose?

Proscar is for prostate (same stuff but much higher dose) For hair the standard is 1 mg/day. Is your friend on anything? He can go to 1.25 eod

The Propecia that I take (also finasteride just like Proscar) is 1mg/tablet, I take 1 daily. So as suggested by GSXR yesterday Proscar can be divided into 4 pieces and take 1.25mg/day. Next time I'm re-filling my Propecia prescription I'm going to ask my dermatologist if I can get Proscar instead, since this will obviously be a lot cheaper.

Yes 1mg is the standard prescribed dose. 1.25mg is what I take

Ask for the Proscar 5mg ( they are covered by health insurance whereas propecia is not ) and just split them in 4

Also Nizorol shampoo, and emu oil are a part of my regiment

If he's not on anything then tell him to play it by ear. 1.25mg/day to start, if he finds his sex drive is dying too much then tell him to go eod.

i find it weird how many guys on these boards speak of the concern of libido loss from this compound. if you read medical journals/studies only something like 1.5% of men report that as a side effect

i think it has more to do with the other hormones guys are pumping into their bodies and/or psychological effects

I can say with 100% certainty that Finasteride at 1.25mg ED KILLED MY SEX DRIVE. Not only did I never think about sex, I didnt even really want to have any.

And this was during a 500mg / week dose of HG Test E (which usually makes me horny as **** all the time for no reason at all)

It has happened to other guys I know too.

Fortunately it hasn't affected my libido/boner ability whatsoever, and I've been on it a long time. I've been on my test-e cycle 1 week now, if the test should begin to increase my sex drive..then even better !! :)

I went and saw my dermatologist last Thursday and asked for the Proscar, he told me I would need to see my family doctor for that since it is technically used for the prostate. So today I went and saw my family doctor, told him why I wanted the Proscar, and he hooked me up with a prescription for 3 of them since they are administerd in 30 pill prescriptions. Bottom line is I'm set for 1 year's worth of finasteride, and it is covered under my drug plan. Soo that saves me over $700/year vs. taking Propecia which isn't covered !! Thanks to the tips from this board !! :)
