while getting too much of your cals from shakes is a bad thing, i doubt it will create a wall in your intestine.

As far as shakes being bad or not as good as food I call bullshit. For me it`s even better, as with food you often have to add stuff that increases the amount of sugar and fats to make it taste good. Not with shakes.

I'm the opposite.

I can add pepper to my food and be happy with that , shakes I will either add fruit or some splenda to taste a bit better.

I would much rather eat real whole food over drinking shakes any day. I will only have a shake if I'm pressed for time.

i think all this bullshit started with Wade Mcnutt marketing his hemp protein and digestive enzymes to bodybuilders in search of the holy grail supplements.

Dont get me wrong i think hemp and enzymes are beneficial in countless ways, but his argument was that because whey protein is essentially enzyme, vitamin, and mineral free, it offers little to no nutrients and ends up not being digested properly and just rotting in your intestines.

i believe there may be an extremely small amount of truth to what he is saying about whey protein not being as bioavailable as it could be, but with the advances in sports nutrition and added enzymes to almost all proteins on the market now i think it gets digested just fine if you ask me.
