Tanning beds are your friend

Calves are a genetic thing big time...I believe they can be improved for sure, but soooo m uch relies on their natural shape and insertions...keep on pumpin...then maybe shave, looks much more impressive...

Where is a good insertion point? Mine are fairly low.

IMO it is desireable to have them insert nice and low, if you see many african american folk, they have very high and short calves, looks like long ankles, it is nice to see nice low as possible to achilles tendon and then fill them up.....
You guys ever notice some overweight folks have huge ripped calves??
I believe they are a white muscle or fast twitch muscle, that require lots of reps and weight to grow...Maybe im off on that thought...I havent done a lot of research regarding calves...
I just do a lot of static holds and stretching at the bottom and try and go at a decent rep rate, but not to fast, let them stretch out, power them up, and let them slowly go back to the stretch....

I hear you on fat people having huge calves. I always see the big fat guys repping the whole stack like it's nothing.

I use the tanning bed all the time, but it never really tans my legs?

And why in the hell should i start shaving my legs? It's not like im going to step on stage any time soon so it would just be another thing i need to do every day.....lol

Hey do you guys use tanning oil for the beds? If so how the hell do you get it on your back evenly?

Thanks.

I've never understood why people have such tiny little calfs.

Myself, I was born without ankles. I have feet ,calfs and knees. It's much more efficient this way because you never have to worry about spraining an ankle.

Try to choose you parents better next time.

I thought I would resurrect this thread to show off what happens after you snap your achilles tendon, I lost about an inch off the right one, and the left... well you can see for yourself.

Yeah it was one of the less cool things that I have done, but it has really focused me in regards to future training, I am gonna get hyooge.

And it is fixed, now I just have to go through the whole "stretch out the tendon" process and the "rebuild your muscle" stuff

I tore my mcl a few years back and after it repaired I haven't noticed it at all, so I am hoping that I am lucky with injuries and this goes back to normal... but who knows.

very different injuries. You'll struggle for a bit I believe but with proper rehab the range of motion and mobility will come back.
