Who is going out?

I am on a partner tag this year as I got my bull last year, and will not likely get my draw again until next year or the year after.

sweet thats some good shit up there.
I lived in Slave lake for a couple years, and we had a moose camp up neat Utikima Lake (near red earth creek). Was a 2 hour quad ride from the furthest road into the bush, and **** me did we see game. Pulled about 8 bulls out over 50 inches

Red Earth, yeah spent a lot of work/Hunting yrs up in that shit hole lol, but it is some insane Hunting that's for sure, nothing but BIG everything in them woods out there! From Peace area originally, just southish from Red Earth.

it can also be a bit wet up in those parts LOL

One year I didnt even make it into camp. Spent 8 hours on quad and winched 7.5 hours of it. Set up camp in the high ground, and turned around the next morning and came out. Too ****ing wet to hunt. Popped off two tire beads, and a valve stem. Burnt out a winch.
It was not pretty. PLus I took up my cousin that year, and he almost started crying (never again). it was a grunt, but ****ing have some dignity LOL

I could just imagine getting a big bull and having to take it out in 5 pieces. It would take a week for **** sakes. I hunted more towards Wabasca that year and didnt see an animal. Indians have that are too cleaned out.

This is a pic of my old moose camp from about 1999

it does get wet that time of the yr up there yes, lol, and cold! ...quartering them big bastards up is a job! then yet you still gotta get them out, been there done that a # of times for sure. Great cardio LOL!

Oh yes the trusty old 3 wheeler Hnda Big Reds...tough as hell them things were.

I have a few Native bro's that tag along with their Treaty Cards ;) in trade for a front quarter or so.

Not this year, but next for sure.......I miss the hunt big time...We grew up with horses on our farm on the border of a national park....It was great, you can shoot a moose in the most ugly ravine around, harness up the horses and cut a semi-path and you are done..Once you get the horses used to the smell of blood its excellent..CC and i still have horses....You can walk right into a herd of elk on horseback with no notice by them...lol...
We see them most days on the way to work....talk about fever...
Good luck to you all, be safe.....
Have fun......lucky buggers

And I still have my big red. Keep it for sentimental purposes I guess. Miss going out on it, but prefer the quad... without a doubt

That's ****ing wild. I have never seen I moose live in person but those pics really show off it's size.

300 win mag huh? That's a beast of a round. Biggest I ever shot was a 270 Win.

You allowed to hunt moose with a shotgun? I would think a 12 gauge slug would drop a moose no?

I dont think the lack of penetration would make up for the heavy hit. Plus you need range sometimes. Last years bull was 300 yards.

P.A.L- possesion and acquisition licence. Non restricted and resrticted.

I'd have to check but I'm pretty sure the charges would screw you over

yeah not sure on that one, but an F.A.C is a (Fire Arms Acquisition) card mainly just for the person to purchase a fire arm from a retail store ..I do believe.
