Is it just me or has crocop's ufc performances seemed less than respectable? It's not so much the fact that he's losing... but it just seems like he doesn't care at all about what's going on in the fight. Last night was especially horrible... I bet he threw a combined 20 strikes and 30 "pushes" (what the hell is that?).

I was super pumped to see him come to the ufc... but his lack of desire to fight makes him look like an absolute chump. sigh...

PS. I was real happy to see vitor KO franklin... I like franklin, but if one of the two has to go against silva, I'd rather see vitor get the chance.

CroCop probably still can't get over the embarassment of having his ass handed to him by Gonzaga.

Franklin to me is done. His style is outdated. People run through him easily now. Same goes for Matt Hughes, Liddell, Couture, and the rest of the guys who helped bring this sport up. Their time has passed.

Much like in bodybuilding this will probably be Jay Cutler's last contest if he doesn't place in the top 2.

as a crocop fan that was hard to watch. he really hasn't been up to his old self since his pride fighting days. even his wins have looked uninspired

I know what you mean... I was embarrassed for recommending the fight for people to watch. Atleast the rest of the card was worth the watch (I'm actually starting to like koscheck... even if he is still a bit of a douche :P)

there are a few UFC guys i'd like to see move to K-1 (or return). Mirko is one of them.

Maybe one of the reasons all the pride guys dont do well in the states is due to the lack of testing over in japan, a lot of those guys moved down a weight class when they came to ufc as well. It was very hard to watch cro cop, i almost thought he had a broken hand or something, did he even thro a punch after the first round or just those pushes? If he doesnt have the desire to fight he should stick to politics. Frankling may be past his prime but is a great role model of what a fighter should be/act like. And he is still a very technical, good fighter. It is sad to see all the guys that built this sport getting older, and it seems no one quits when there on top. They still deserve our respect. Vitor would be a great match for anderson as im sure he would push the pace and has the handspeed and power to deal with someone like anderson,

I was thinking that too about the drug testing. All those Pride guys seem to not have as much steam in the UFC as they did in Japan.

If you look at many of them, you can see the change in physique compared to when they were in Pride and even before the UFC starting testing...check out Mark Coleman..even Randy Couture, now compared to before testing was implemented...their muscles are flatter and the hardness is just not there. Last nite Vitor was a prime example, his physique looks way different than even in his last Affliction fight.

I was thinking the same thing about Vitor. He fought as a heavyweight at age 19, shredded. Now he's softer and fighting at middleweight.

so i hear on mma connection tonight that crocop says he isnt into fighting anymore and thinks he should have quit after his last Pride contest.....says he doesnt think about fighting when he steps into the ring....thinks about going fishing! well that explains a lot.....he did catch a couple of whoppers to the head the other night tho ;)

I think that Crocop is done. If he does not retire, he needs to change things up. He should move to the US for a year, do some training at Xtreme Couture Vegas and ATT. A new strength and conditioing coach would help as well. What he is doing is not working. My guess is he is done and it would not matter. As well, at 225 lbs, he is a tiny heavyweight compared to Lesner, JDS, Carwin, et al. He is getting man handled; the fights with Congo, Gonzaga, and JDS support this. If he cut to 205, he might be stronger, but maybe a little slow and predictable.

He was a great fighter. His fight with Fedor is one of my alltime favs.

As with all fighters, his time to retire is now, but he does not realize it.

I was really pumped to see him back, I even bet on him. Something is gone from Cro Cop after the Gonzaga KO. Other fighters do not give him the space they used too. Reminds me of how Roy Jones Jr suddenly became much less effective after he got his first real bad knockout. After other fighters realized that Jones could be beaten they started crowding him pretty bad, the respect was gone, I think the same is true for Cro Cop every since Gonzaga punted his head over the cage fence. Dos Santos was running straight at him... very few people rushed at Cro Cop in Pride, and when they did, they usually paid for it. Maybe his reflexes have taken a huge nosedive?

I think it is pretty obvious a lot of the former Pride guys were taking banned substances ( I don't even mean juice either. ) The energy in some Pride fights seemed unbelievable at times. I loved Pride and I am sad to watch some of my former favorites not only lose, but get embarrassed.

Sad day for Cro Cop, I think he should hang them up. What do you guys think was his eye really hurt that bad? Or would Cro Cop's Pride not allow himself to get KO'd again? Dos Santos was getting close to finishing him.

Vitor looks tiny compared to when he started in the UFC; he did not have a neck 12 years ago at 19.

I think steroids in the ufc should be up to the indivudual. The fans want it.

Problem is where you draw the line. I'm certainly no pro fighter... but the few grappling competitions I've been in I woulda killed to slam 600mg of caffeine before the matches. I think stimulants and "endurance" drugs would be the preferred drugs of fighters... I don't know about you guys but I'd have a hard time supporting a sport that turns a blind eye to heart stopping stimulants and blood clots.

Long story short, it's just easier to say "no drugs" than selective testing and deciding how illegal is illegal :P

If that makes any sense.... lol

wish cro cop the best... he had some great wars.... fought fedor and took him to a decision... but everything good comes to an end... the new generation is taking over

I think that was the last fight on Mirko's UFC contract. I read somewhere that he doesn't like fighting in the cage and that he prefers the ring, but that is no excuse for coming out flat.
Does the drug testing in the UFC have something to do with this?
