Dislocated my pinky finger today - Got it x-ray'd and there might also be a small fracture..it's really swollen now and I can't bend it much.

For those of you who have been through this, how long before it heals?

Pisses me off because it's only the pinky but it prevents me from grabbing a barbell/dumbbells.

Put a few digits back in my football days. Splint it or tape it and BABY it, otherwise its like a sprain that takes weeks to months to feel strong again.

I f*cked some of my fingers good in football. Playing WR can be hard on the hands. You either gotta man up or take some time off. Only you know how bad it is/ what you can put up with. It will take a few weeks at least for it to be better.

Be glad the doc didn't make it worse putting it back. That's what happened to me.

when you get back to weights tape it to your ring finger and wear straps for a while

I put it back in myself..(pinky was sticking outward at a 45 degree angle)

wonder if HGH helps repair ligaments/tendons? ;)

Be smart the best way to repair it is time, let it heal couple of weeks should be G2G

i broke my pinky playing soccer 2 summers ago... worst part was smacking it on EVERYTHING... so I wore a hard little hand armour thinggy (like a cast, but just tensored on) and taped it to it's next dorr neighbour finger!
Leigh says it depends where your break is will influence how long you should take off lifting.
I say take a few weeks until the swelling goes down, grab some straps and do what you can!! (ICE IT at least 3X a dat!!! and some anti inflams!)

I used to brake my fingers and hands constantly from scrapping all the time back in the day (stupid) but I do know that if I didn't take that time off that was needed, it would just prolong the the healing process! Let them heal bro for real like a couple wks fosho
